Finally, I believe the small refund was not up to standard when so many things were not up to par with the total cruise. If I had to make a decision today to schedule another cruise I can clearly say the Carnival Fantasy would not make the cut due to all the issues of the room and how dated the ship looks. For the price I paid I was clearly disappointed with my Carnival experience being my first cruise. Honestly, I wish I had taken the refund option but I decided to try it since I was already here. Hind sight is 20/20 I guess.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Much to my dismay the overall cruise was not up to my expected satisfaction starting with the issues that postponed embarkment. I was amazed that we did not board as scheduled due to fog, however I will accept it for what it is. But, the prorated refund that was offered seems very unrealistic when I had to pay for another hotel stay with additional expenses for food and Uber, since I had to change hotels as I had already checked out prior to the announcement that embankment was changed til Tuesday.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I want to begin my review with those that made my experience more pleasurable. My dining experiences were great each night with some amazing service. First, I want to recognize Arnold and I Gede for amazing services at dinner each night. They provided outstanding service every night at dinner. The overall food and drinks were very good. That experience was wonderful.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Next, I want to give a shout out to Benjamin Lambert, Cruise Director for all the events he had for us to experience every day and night. In addition, I was always happy to attend events that J.J., Entertainment Manager coordinated. He was always so happy and pleasant each time I was at any event he coordinated. The activities on this cruise was very good and organized well. The comedy shows were well put together and very entertaining. I did like the newly wedd game hosted by Benjamin.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
I did like the stage set up mostly in areas except where the comedy shows were held as it was too small of room for those shows. There was not enough seating which wasn’t acceptable for a cruise.
Service and Staff

Last but not least, Philip was an excellent server wherever he was serving drinks either at the comedy shows, the Lido deck or any other place he worked during my cruise. These people provided amazing services from day 1 til the last day of the cruise.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Once finally boarding on Tuesday, I found dirty socks in my closet as well as something stuck to the wall outside the bathroom. Of course, when I alerted the staff it was corrected. I still would have thought the dirty socks would have been removed prior to my arrival as well as the unacceptable spot on the wall which looked like dried vomit or something similar.
In addition, I was not impressed with the overall room appearance. The bathroom door had loose metal stripping coming off and the bottom of the door was all rusted. Next, there was only one electrical plug in the room to use. This made quite an inconvenience to use my sleep machine and charge my iPhone with only one plug. Overall, I was not impressed with the cabin as it looks very dated and was not user friendly for electrical plugs.
Cabin / Stateroom

I wasn’t impressed with my cabin as it was not up to par. The staff was helpful but had to point out dirty socks in the closet as well as something on exterior wall if bathroom theater definitely wasn’t appealing. Next, I only had one electric plug which isn’t acceptable. I should not have to bring a power strip when I travel. In addition, I was not impressed with the overall room appearance. Ship tip
To make sure you have a power strip and not to expect much from this dated cabin and honestly a dated ship.
It'll be of great help to watch YouTube or visit cruise forum sites on your next trip, or ask those who went to cruise already so you can be well prepared and enjoy your next trip.
We had Fantasy last year, and we had a blast. We also had a dirty linen on the trundle bed when we came, but the staff and supervisor were very apologetic and fixed the issue right away...and we enioyed a clean room everyday since. I would be mad if we're ignored.
Good luck on your next cruise!
Sounds like you didn't do your research before going on the cruise. The single outlet is well documented. The dirty socks and whatever on the wall is an easy fix and happens. No one is perfect. That would never dictate my cruise fun once corrected. As with any cruise, weather happens. You must be prepared to plan accordingly. That's also well documented and out of everyones hands. Sometimes the seating isn't an issue, as it changes from cruise to cruise. They are in the money making business. You're entitled to your opinion, but I feel you may have left a lot on the table in your end. Better luck next time.... I'm a veteran cruiser and loved every single cruise I've been in. "Ship happens" as they say. Shake it off and find the fun
