we did not enjoy most of the cruise and were glad to get off the ship...many others shared our feelings...cold weather had a lot to do with the overall experience, but the ship wasn't prepared for it, and did not keep us informed of events..all passengers were asking each other what was going on but no one knew...
Embarkation
1 out of 5
had to wait outside in mid 20s weather
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
dining room food was gourmet...good to look at but portions were miniscule...buffet was crowded...hard to find a seat...people hanging around, chatting, playing games...
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
pools were crowded...hot tubs were filled with kids in the main area and with drinking adults in serenity...shows were mostly for juveniles...song and dance shows were few and short...cruise director took up most of the time hawking other things..
Entertainment
2 out of 5
shows were mostly for kids and young adults
Children's Programs
no kids
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
most service on the ship was satisfactory...however they were continually closing off areas for maintainance ...
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
okay, have no complaints re cleanliness
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
was okay...except there was no heat on the ship and it was cold.
Ship tip
read all the 1 and 2 star reviews...you may not experience them but know what it could be like...after the trip I can verify that most complaints are valid...
town was miles away...near the ship was a duty free shop and many booths with overly aggressive personnel...walked around for an hour...took no tours..
town was close after going thru the duty free shops and the vendor village...traffic was a problem...drivers refuse to acknowledge pedestrians...took no tours...
I think many cruisers think that it's in the Caribbean and it's going to be like summer. That isn't always going to be like that because of the weather can change. I've been on two winter cruises and I pack for the weather change after my first one.
I try to avoid any cruise in the western Caribbean because I'm happier with the island in the eastern part of the Caribbean.
