We had a great time, mainly becasue of the crew: they were for the most part fun, attentive and interactions were friendly. We will do it again since it is so convenient and relatively inexpensive. A great way to relax for 5 days.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Faster to the Fun is the way to go. We carried on our luggage and our room was ready: the vacation started immediately.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Main dining room: food was better than expected. Buffets: hit and miss, mostly hit. We did the Chef's Table: Chef Chang was very knowledgeable and informative. The food was sublime and some of the best I have had in a long time. Guy's Burgers were better than expected as were the burritos/tacos.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Fitness center: good enough for working out in. Serenity deck: relaxing.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Entertaining even with a small cast.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service was mostly excellent. Jan, our steward, was very good. One bad server in the dining room. Director of Entertainment, Katie and DJ Rocksteady were beyond amazing. And yes, Mikey is the best cruise director I have ever seen. The biggest issue was picking up liqour purchased on board or in port on day of disembarkation: a total mess. Expect to waste 30-45 minutes in line: there has to be a better way.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Old ship, some rust spots, but overall kept very clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Comfortable, enough closet space. Bathroom a little small, but doable.
Ship tip
Chef's table: well worth the $75 for the great food, wine, entertainment and experience.
FTTF: walked off quickly and our bags were there shortly after we were, although they placed one of the bags in the wrong group.
FYI: Liquor policy: according to CBP, 1 liter per person is all that is allowed per law, but the ship and stores will tell you otherwise. I talked to agent on way out, and he said although 1 liter per person is the law, they don't tax or impose duty in Mobile. However, beware this could change at any time.
