Review summary
To be honest this is probably the worst cruise that I have been on. It started off wrong. Before we even boarded, we all received a text stating that "Due to bad weather, all boarding times have been pushed back 2 hours. So instead of the ship leaving at 4 pm as planned, we left after 7 pm. Wednesday after spending the day at Progresso, Mikey the cruise director stated that the ship was having propulsion problems and that instead of arriving at Coszemel at 7 am Thursday, we would not arrive there until 12 noon. That was disappointing because our time shopping was cut short. We had to be back on the ship before 5:30 pm however; the ship did not leave until a few hours later. When we did start moving; the captain must have put the pedal to the floor. No one including the staff was able to stand up. In fact Mikey the cruise director said the performers could not perform because they were unable to stand up. What they did was sat on stage in chairs and song. Mikey then gets on the intercom and apologize and said that due to the ship having problems, that he was giving out free drinks for 45 minutes. I don't drink and the drinks they gave out were cheap and inexpensive. You could not order what you wanted. The drinks were pre-made: mixed drinks, whine and beer. They offered some type of punch for those who didn't drink. Upon arriving back at Mobile on 6 May 2017, Fox 10 reported that once again the ship had broken down and the delay wasn't due to bad weather, it was due to propulsion problemsolving. My husband saw the report on the news aND I saw the article on the Internet. This was the 2nd time in 3 weeks that the ship had broken down. The cruisers before us were compensated. Several of us called carnival and theget told us there will be no compensation and for us to read the fine print. They are allowed to make changes. I also had a problem with them added charges tof my Daughter's com account without her approval. I had to go to customer service 3 times before they corrected it. Our state room was dirty, they forgot to change the linen on one of the beds and cleam the hair off of the bathroom floor. The carpet smelled like feet. Our cabin boy took the dirty linen off the bed but did not mop the floor he however, had then clean the carpet. Later that night, I got up to look for a blanket because it was cold, I found dirty blankets in the closet. When I told the cabin boy he told me it was dirty. Later that day he had once again replaced the dirty blankets with clean ones. I guess they forgot to clean the room. How gross. Mikey the cruise director wwas a great entertainer however; he had a phobia when it came to African American people. We noticed he would go out of his way to avoid them. He would speak and shake hands with other nationalities however; when he realized he was heading in the direction of African Americans, he would change his route and head in a totally different direction. It was obvious that he was trying to avoid them. I'm very observant, my job deals with discrimination and equal opportunity.

Select another ship or cruise line. The photo staff (female in charge) was very rude. She pushed a member of our party. I tried to put my gratuities on a different charge card and they said I couldn't. They said I had to place it on the same card I checked in on.
