Review summary

Choose this cruise, only if it fits your vacation time, and you can wrap a night or two in New Orleans around it. The itenerary is a little weak, although the snorkeling in Cozumel is very good. Progreso has some minor Mayan ruins, and that tour is OK, but, if you take it, don't miss swimming in the senote' (sinkhole, incredibly clear water, and refreshing after the hot hike).

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

Take a snorkeling tour. Very nice reefs with abundance of coral and sea life. Keep an eye out, during the sail, for the flying fish!
Don't Miss: Snorkeling. Don't waste your time shopping.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

This has only been a port for two years. The Mayan ruins are OK, but not spectacular. Good shelling on the beaches. Stick with the tours.
Don't Miss: Rather weak, overall.

Pros: Attentive staff, good food, New Orleans as port of origin.

Cons: Nickel-and-dime additional charges.
