Carnival Fantasy

5 Night Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 24, 2006

Ship: Carnival Fantasy

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

The ship was very well maintained even though it is not new. The one drawback was navigating around from floor to floor because of the way the ding rooms were laid out (you were unable to go between them). The Universe Longe was uite large but the lay out was awful. Seats on the first floor were all on the same level making it hard for those in the rear to see and there were poles blocking the view for many. The top floor had a see through half wall with a silver rail which seemed to get in the way anywhere you sat. Very annoying.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

For a first time cruiser I would suggest the City Tour, Atlantis Hotel and Aquarium, Snorkeling. Straw market is a waste of time. Can buy the same junk cheaper at Walmart.
Don't Miss: If not taking a tour, at least walk around the town to get to learn a little of the people.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
The island is quite lovely with the clearest of water. There was really nothing to see in the way of snorkeling but just being in the water was fantastic. The little church was quite interesting.
Don't Miss: Getting wet in the clear, blue water.

Grand Turk Island

1 out of 5
The island itself is dry and not in the least pretty. The only thing that was interesting was the lighthouse (but really just another lighthouse). There was absolutely nothing else of interest in the town.
Don't Miss: Magaritaville was great but who wants to travel that far and for that amount of money when there are so many "Margaritaville's here.
