Review summary

My first cruise ever and probably my last. The weather was not favorable towards the last half of the trip, so we did not make our last stop. Upon leaving our first stop in Nassau, a storm came through and the boat rocked so hard to where people where knocking into one another.. and people were vomiting in the dining halls, the elevators, the halls.. everywhere. We woke up the following morning hoping things were different and we'd have a nice day at Princess Cay.. only to find out that the ship had changed course and we were stuck for 2 days on the ship. We tried to make the best of it as a family, but the mini golf and water slides were shut down for safety and after a few times of the pool being drained from people vomiting in the pool, it eventually broke. There we was nothing to do the remainder of the trip as we had children with all activities closed and everywhere we turned people were vomiting. It was an absolute nightmare. I contacted Carnival after the trip "nightmare" and they said there was nothing they could do, even though I paid for a drink package that I barely used.. I will never use them again and probably will never go on a cruise after that experience. I understand that you can't predict mother nature, but you pay for entertainment and an experience and I definitely did not get my money's worth.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The room staff and dining staff/ drink staff were great. Everyone else did not seem to care for our experience.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The one pool, and few hotubs made it impossible to use.

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

One small pool. For as many guests... it would be a rarity to be in the pool. 4 hot tubs.. they were full the entire time. I would not recommend.

Yikes so sorry it went so bad, we went during a storm and did not have any of this as a problem. Sounds awful :(

Sorry for your experience. Next time get on a big ship that is more stabilized.

What’s to say, Mother Nature.

It looks like cruising isn’t for you. And I love kids but don’t think, IMO, that they belong on a cruise ship. To me cruising is to relax and that’s hard to do with crying kids running all over.

Sorry you were in such rough seas. Most cruise lines need to shut down things like the slides during bad weather to avoid injuries to the passengers. Hopefully, you’ll have a chance to try to cruise again on a bigger ship and better weather. If not, at least you tried it.

Cruising certain times of the year are not favorable, hurricane season you take a risk. If sailing closer to the East Coast of the U.S. in the winter to early spring there could be a noreaster. Usually April to early September it is less likely to have a storm system in the Caribbean.

You were on the ocean, it gets rough. I have cruised a lot and I am prone to seasickness so I always bring medicine for this on every cruise and never have a problem. You need to be ready. Since you don’t plan ahead and then expect refund because of weather you need to stay off ships.

I've done 35 cruises & only hit bad weather on a handful of occasions, can't comment on this ship as I've not sailed on her, but I think you have to realise that some people do get motion sickness, I'm fortunate it doesn't affect me or my wife, but also sometime if the seas are to rough they have to cancel some entertainment, this is for the safety of the theatre cast & entertainment team, I would say please don't let one bad experience put you off for life, maybe try a different location like Europe or a different time of year when weather is not as bad, hope this helps.

You sailed on one of Carnivals smallest/oldest ships in bad weather. You shouldn’t write off cruising forever. Sail on a different ship or a different cruise line. We’ve sailed on 10 cruises and only 1 of them had rough seas!
