Review summary

This first cruise was an experiment for us, and I'd call it a success. We will definitely be back!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We foolishly decided to take all of our own baggage onboard. Many people were there to help us! Next time we will definitely check our bags.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining rooms had food that was plentiful and delicious, with excellent service. We were late to discover the wonderful cheeseburgers; I would have eaten them every day! Drinks were not as satisfactory. A very small selection of diet drinks, and they were all gone by day 4 of the trip. Glasses were so small that it took multiple fill up trips to get through a meal.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn't really do any of these. Sitting by the pool would have been nice, but the music was too loud to enjoy.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The musicals in the Mikado were very professional and enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the violinists in the Atrium.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Top notch and so friendly! Our waiter in the Inspiration Dining room was the Best! Our cabin steward Cindy was wonderful. Davis in Guest services was so very helpful even though he was a trainee. We had occasion to visit the medical service, where the doctor and nurse were great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything everywhere was extremely clean. We were not prepared to do so much walking to go from one place to another around the ship. Next time we will choose a room closer to an elevator. We appreciated the maps located by every elevator. It took me until Day 4 to be confident about the location of places I wanted to go. The Serenity Deck was nice, but way too small.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Absolutely spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable for sleeping, but I wish there had been a chair to sit in. More TV choices would have been nice too.

Ports of call

Bimini, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Bimini is a small island, and not very prosperous. Our tour was very good and we got to see a lot of the island. The beachside outdoor lunch was terrific!

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
What a bustling, crowded city--so very different from Bimini. Our bus tour was terrific with a driver who kept us entertained the whole way. We had just enough stops to shop and explore.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Everyone was so helpful! I found my car with a flat tire in the parking lot, but one man used an inflator to pump it up, a porter brought all our bags to the car, and someone else gave us wonderful directions to a Tire Center only about a mile away. We were on the road with a new tire in a very short time.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. Appreciate your detailed review. Glad you enjoyed your first cruise enough to plan another. You sailed on the oldest and one of the smallest ships in the fleet.

When we are on the Elation or Paradise, we always ask the steward for a chair. Its never an issue.
