We've been on 20 cruises and this by far was the worst money we've ever spent. Definitely would not recommend the Carnival Elation.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Went relatively smoothly..
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The assortment of items offered were slim and the quality was lacking.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Only pool offered was out of service for a complete day, especially inconvenient because it was a sea day.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
All we were aware of was music. Bands and shows were each instrumentals or singers.
Children's Programs
We didn't have anyone under 18 with us.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
No one seemed particularly happy. Ones we came into contact with were rushed and obviously understaffed.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Miserable design. Too cut up. Difficult to get around without getting turned around.
Staircases appeared to not have been washed is a long while.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Size for a balcony was very small. Shower curtain was a joke, more water on floor in front of sink than in the stall. We're not big people, this was totally unacceptable. Once a day cleaning was okay.
Ship tip
Make sure that all repairs to engine and mechanical issues are taken care of before booking.
We are on this ship right now and it has been amazing! We are first time cruisers so we do not have anything to compare it to, but the food has been great, the shows and activities are also great, and the staff has been absolutely wonderful! Vacation is what you make it!
We were on it last Jan and loved it...alot of it is what you make it...chose to go to dinner before or after the rush if you dont wanna wait, every staff member was friendly and said hi but we also always smiled and said hello to everyone we passed....we had a great time and would def go back

William Makepeace Thackeray .. the tell tale sign is that absolutely everything was terrible...
Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations! It’s one of the older ships so you probably need to sail on the newer ones or a different cruise line!
