Review summary

I recommend it. Older ship, shorter itinerary but worth the time and money.

Embarkation

We had a suite, so there was a very minimal wait to get on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Here is were my complaints are with this ship, specifically the main dining room. The service was just very unorganized and very very slow. Our head server introduced herself on the first night then we only saw her maybe three more times the rest of the cruise. The food in the MDR was never even close to hot, warm at best. And my favorite Carnival desert the chocolate melting cake was over cooked and not melting every night. The other venues were all tasty.

She is an old lady of a ship, but they have done a nice job with her maintenance.

Ship tip

Don’t come on expecting all the bells and whistles of a new ship. And this is a very small ship, it does rock and roll a lot.

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Did the Carnival excursion of Puerto Plata and Monkeyland. I highly recommend it. Great tour of the city and the monkey interaction was amazing.

Grand Turk Island

Just love this spot. Jacks shack is our standard go to spot for this island.

Disembarkation

We are never in a rush to stand in the cattle call lines. We try to be some of the very last people off the ship. So no problems for us.

We love the Elation and the smaller ships. They don't attract families with a bunch of children. The amusement park ships just attract a crowd of rowdies.
