After the rocking and rolling of this cruise and missing both scheduled ports of call made this my first and last carnival cruise will look at a different cruise next time!!!!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Getting aboard was quick and easy
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Dining room was awesome wait staff was great quickly learned and remembered your name food was good a quick dancing show got passengers up dancing and singing with staff! buffetwas so-so woulda thought it would be open longer started earlier food was okay, pizza was only thing 24hrs ice bar sucked very limited variety and no toppings were offered! Only 2 specialty restaurants thought there was more according to listing
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Only 1 pool and 4 small hot tubs listing said 3 pools and 4 hot tubs! Water park was fun but getting up to top of waterslide was seemed to be dangerous since it was windy plus the rocking of ship not for little kids. And main pool was shut down most of second day for repairs seemed like that should of been done before boarding!!!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I loved the comics that were on board went to their shows the various musicians were also a hit electric violins were fantastic playing old and newer genres, there was a asian singer don’t remember the groups name but they were awesome caught a few of the other shows that had more crowd interactions that were great too.
Children's Programs
Didn’t go with any young children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
First I didn’t get to meet with my room steward Made was his name, till end of sailing but he was great my stateroom was well taken care of. The main dining room i went to at table 301 was great I don’t remember any of their names as i had 4 different wait staff but they all learned my name quickly, and also made friends with the gasby lounge bartender and waitress Martina and Dragana they were fun and they made great drinks and also learned names and faces fast
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
When i first arrived i was taken by the main atrium with its twin glass elevators and wood work but in the halls going to staterooms it had a sewerage smell that i kinda got used to And the ship was showing it’s age with rust and rust stains, aside that the crew kept the decks and pools clean
Cabin / Stateroom

A very cozy room very comfortable bed large screen tv was nice but very limited tv stations and should of offered more movie choices but got me to stay out doing other things longer i guess
didn’t make port again this time captian said it was due to high winds but i think it was same problem as amber cove but they were covering their ass very disappointed at this point was only givin $50 per port plus any excursion fees
Told to be out of rooms by 8am then sat around till alomost 10am when told that my deck could leave then felt corralled like cattle at a slaughterhouse heading to customs and boarder patrol which for me went smoothly but got lost from friends i was with due to carnival employees who didn’t really care just form a line people.
I was on Elation in September, had engine troubles too. Missed Amber cove port due to slow engine speed. Boat rocked the entire time. Seems to be that this engine trouble is an ongoing problem. Not right that Carnival continues sailing this ship. I would never sail on the Elation again. Had an aft facing balcony room, bathroom smelled like cat urine the entire time. 🤢
Seems like bad weather is to blame more than Carnival. One port sure to technical issues, one port due to weather, shop rocking, water slides didn't like because of the wind. I guess blaming Carnival is easier than blaming mother nature
