Review summary

This was our 1st cruise. Overall it was amazing. Crew was great ship was clean and nice. However it was very rocky and our room even shook (like vibrations) lots of veteran cruisers said this was their worst one ever. We heard something about there being a problem with the stabilizer on the ship.

Embarkation

Embarkation was smooth and organized. Friendly port staff as well.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We really enjoyed most of the bartenders. Hong from red rum is great! Yoga at the drama bar! Romy from the Atrium is awesome!! They are very friendly but also fairly quick! Food in Buffett and main dining wasn't really anything special but it wasn't bad! Guys burgers was awesome, as well as the Blue Iguana Cantina!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There is only one pool and it isn't very large but it was nice and we spent a lot of time there. We never got to enjoy the serenity deck because it was packed by 7AM! And it wasn't very large at all. The "sports deck" had 2 ping pong tables and the fitness center, people were almost always in line for ping pong, as well as cornhole. But we did enjoy mini golf and watching others play ping pong.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We went to 2 stage shows and 1 comedy performance and both were fantastic!!! The performers really give it their all to give you the best show they can and they all sing really well! The comedian was killer beaz, we went to the adult show...it was awesome!!! That being said...if you don't like foul language or are easily offended I wouldn't go to the rated r show. Definitely dont sit in the first 2 or 3 rows because it makes you a target for jokes, unless you like than kind of stuff.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff was AMAZING! Again Romy, Hong, Yoga and a few other bartenders were especially awesome! Our room steward (Shelia) was out of this world!! She checked on us every evening to see if we needed anything because she cleaned our room around noon and wanted to make sure we didn't need more towels or ice. Wait staff was great as well!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It was as clean as a ship its age could be. The bathrooms were clean which is important to me! The room was nice and spacious, we were on the highest deck (recently added to the ship) and it was very nice. Although, if you've never been on a cruise or get motion sickness easily do not pick a higher deck!! Horrible mistake! Pack seabands!! The ship shook and vibrated on the higher decks (we heard something about a problem with the stabilizer, that is the only reason I didn't give more stars for this). There were plenty of veteran cruises on the ship and a lot of them talked about this being their worst cruise because of that problem. Other than that it was great.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was awesome. We were in the highest deck and farthest forward (big mistake for motion) but the cabin itself was clean and beautiful. It was newer (recently added to the ship I believe in 2017 or 18). It was definitely much more spacious than I expected as well!!

Ship tip

Don't pick the highest deck or farther forward. If you can get deck 7 mid ship! Deck 7 has a bar in the Atrium as well so you don't have as far to walk for drinks or after drinks! And definitely pack seabands (it being a smaller ship in their lineup it rocks more anyways).

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

Grand turk was the whole reason I wanted to go on this cruise and it was beautiful, it was very busy because a lot of people purchase faster to the fun and were off the ship before us. However, we didnt lay on the beach because we couldn't figure out which chairs were free because every time we tried to sit down somewhere a local person would come try to sell us a chair and we couldn't tell if it was the ones we were trying to sit in or different ones. We went to margaritaville and laid by the pool and had drinks and it was still an amazing port and I loved it! I would definitely go there again!

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We knew going in that there was no beach only a pool and shops. However, when we got to this port the Carnival Breeze had docked about 30 minutes prior so we got of the ship and the pool was already packed, their were no chairs even away from the pool. We walked around for 30 to 45 minutes and went back to the ship! But it was still a beautiful place. When we got off it was at the front so when we were ready to get back on we went back there because they had 2 ramps and the back had 1. However, there was a sign that said "guest entrance" pointing to the back security sent us there. When we got back there they told us we could not get on the ship there, a carnival crew member tried to get us on the ship and argued with security for a few minutes and then eventually told is we had to go back to the front. When we got back the front they told us to go to the back. We told them what was told to us, they got on the radio and argued and eventually sent us to the front to board. Horrible lack of communication!!!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Debarkation was amazing!!! We got into port Canaveral 1.5 hours early and we were off the ship before 8:15! Definitely carry your bags off because they call you by deck to get off so that was a plus to being on the highest deck! We got up at 6 and were pulling into port so we got dressed and packed up the last few things, went down and got breakfast at 6:30 and had packed everything else the night before. After breakfast we did a last check of the room and sat down to watch tv until time to leave and before we knew it we were off the ship and in a rental car.
