Review summary

This was a weekend getaway to use expiring free flight certificate and port cancellation credit. Four days is too short for experienced cruisers. Short cruise to the Bahamas is great for first time cruisers to give then the cruising experience. First time on Fantasy class. Don’t expect to return to that class of ship. Don’t care for the Bahamas as a cruise port. Freeport residents were much nicer and not so pushy as Nassau shopkeepers, etc. No man made fireworks, but there was lightning in the sky on Independence Day. Seas were mostly calm.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was the only ship in port. As it is one of the small ones and only a four night cruise, there were very few diamond and platinum guests. Once embarkation started it was quick.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Due to the limited size of the ship, a lot of the larger ship activities we are accustomed to didn’t take place. Interesting that Water Works was closed due to PH issues the first day and 1/2.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Did not attend any playlist production shows as we have seen them before. This cruise had Divas and Epic Rock. Based on the welcome aboard show, the performers seemed to be capable of replicating the original performers of the music. Comedians were good - Chas and Rich Purpura.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Ship is 20 years old and shows its age. It is very compact which results in much less walking.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
We had a balcony stateroom for 3. Air conditioning didn’t work well. Called desk daily. Limited bathroom storage. Didn’t like upper bunk over our heads in the king bed below - claustrophobic anyone? No couch like the balcony rooms on the larger ships. Room had 4 USB ports for charging devices and a very large TV. storage was ample for a short cruise. Didn’t like shelves and safe at the door. Where others could see your stuff when door was open. Loved having magnets on the main and bathroom doors so they would stay open instead of using door stops. Bed was comfortable.

Ship tip

If you like small ships, this is one for you. We will return to the larger sized ships and rooms for our next cruises.
