Review summary

Not sure about future cruising with Carnival, as the cost is higher than most, aramark food, and the vast differences in embarkation/debarkation... I believe loyalty should be paid in higher discounts than on red blue gold etc. class style system priorities onboard. There were only two diamond/platinum couples onboard, thinking this to be due to the smaller ship, but even the airlines are not as archaic, as they load/unload based on ticket purchased at that time. embarkation/debarkation should be the same...load/unload by floor.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Great as a Suite Guest/Faster to the Fun.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Sea Day Brunch and Tea Time were the best events that were food related. MDR overrated and Specialty Restaurants need to be open 24 hr with more selections/options. Coke and the like are not so easy to obtain, having to obtain from bars. Should have carried on our own soda.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Not enough events during the day, such as acoustic music, comedy, or a movie in the Mikado. Trivia okay, not into casino, BINGO, mini-golf were great momentary fun, Serenity area outside only, Sushi great, but out of place, just as the coffee bar seemed to be.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Did not attend, as most events that were interesting to us were late evening/8pm->

Children's Programs

No children...

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward named Zya was great. Room was always nice when we returned from ship roaming during the day, and she always greeted us when exiting or returning to our room with a great smile and much enthusiasm.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship appeared to be kept clean and well maintained. Layout is odd in some cases, like noted prior in reference to the sushi bar and coffee bar, as well as Serenity area.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The only complaint we had with our cabin was the step-up to get into the bathroom. There was a learning curve with how to properly close the balcony sliding door for proper locking, but Zya demonstrated and all was well afterward..:-)

Ship tip

If assigned F station, arrive to safety meeting late, or prepare to stand in sun and burn. Might be better to skip the first meeting and attend the meeting in library for those that missed the first.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida Did not visit port

Only for debarkation.

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
We attempted the VIP Blue Lagoon excursion, but after two hours asking two different staff person, four times for two bottles of the complimentary water, we received one bottle and one cup of ice. Left excursion on first boat out and complained with Carnival. We received half our money back for this excursion, and will not sign-up for any excursions at Nassau next time, especially nothing to do with Blue Lagoon.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Loved this port, laying at beach in a clam shell, playing briefly in water, enjoying a drink, lunch, and the tram tour around the island excursion.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Did receive the same type of treatment with debarkation as we did with embarkation, as Suite guest with Faster to the Fun. Embarkation included us being placed with Diamond/Platinum guest, and boarding just after they did. Debarkation back at Jacksonville, we were placed in the Mikado lounge with Suite guests and anyone with an airline ticket leaving jacksonville by 12:30pm. What a mess.
