Review summary

Great cruise until they lost our passports. They admitted they lost them.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Pretty good except for the line at security.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We used to have better service. It was not bad by any means but it used to exemplary and it's not that any more.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
As always, the hot tubs and pool are always filled with kids. You have to go to the Serenity area to get some peace. I know it's the fun ship and we always love the planned activities but it's always a challenge when parents let their kids run wild.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
DJ Hardware on the lido deck was great.

Children's Programs

No kids with us.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Guest services lost our passports! The dining room hostess was awesome! So we had the best and the worst of experiences on the same cruise. The loss by Guest services was the worst.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean and we are very familiar with the layout of the ship from previous cruises

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was the typical size we expected in room and bathroom. I am not sure the air conditioning worked well but it was okay.

Ship tip

Don't give them your passports no matter how much they ask.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

3 out of 5
Its a very small port with only one ship serviced.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Had fun in Nassau. Rented ATVs (non-Carnival) and went to 3 different beaches. The common theme of all of them are the solicitors and scavengers all over approaching everyone every 5 minutes for drinks, jet ski, banana boat, or whatever. Just too darn much. We had to leave because they bothered us more than flies at a cookout.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

4 out of 5
No one there to bother you and a great beach. We got married there and it was awesome.

Disembarkation

Since the ship lost our passports, we had to be escorted to the CBP office and checked out there, luckily we had passport copies which helped greatly.

We were married on the cruise. They needed our passports to get our marriage license in the Bahamas. "They" are Carnival cruise lines. Carnival reimbursed us for our honeymoon so that was good. It took me 2 months to get a replacement passport. My bride was able to her new passport the next day.

Were u a Non-US citizen? Guest Services doesn’t collect US Passports.

We have been on several cruises where the passports are collected at the beginning of the cruise and you don't get them back until the end. Last year they collected everyone's passports a few days before we got to Russia and gave them back when we were each cleared by the Russian customs and imigration. When I collected mine I opened it up to find a strange man's picture, not mine in the passport.
