I honestly have to say this cruise was OK. Nothing really bad, nothing exceeding my expectations. Not sure I would recommend this cruise to my family or friends.
Carnival Elation Cruise Review to Caribbean - Bahamas
I've only taken a few cruises in y life and this is the only one I didn't feel good about. I was just OK.
I'd also like to have known the services for a priority customer because other than the boarding/unboarding process and having our separate line at guest services I didn't feel like one.
Embarkation

It turned out to be all right but we were confused about where to get in line. I wasn't aware that I that Priority has a separate

Food and Dining

The evening dining was good. My biggest complaint was your buffet area. The daily meals were dry. Tried several items, all the same. Good thing there was the sandwich, pizza & burger options. Breakfast was the same so we had our meals in the restaurant. Food was much better. Our evening server Dharma did an excellent job.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Our purpose for this cruise was to be able to relax & eat some quality food. The Serenity deck was adequate though at one point children were allowed and the staff just sat and watched. It was only addressed when a customer brought it to their attention. Also you have a rule about saving lounge chairs and once again the staff didn't address people reserving lounges and not being there for long periods of time. I'm talking hours. If you have a rule enforce it.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
We didn't find anything that really entertained us. Where not late night people, all the early shows seemed to be family oriented. Those didn't work for us. I do have to say Cameron does a great job. He made things very entertaining. Both comedians were saw were awful. One screamed to make try to make us laugh, the other had one long monologue which had very little humor.
Children's Programs
I was with my girlfriend. We are both 65 years old looking to spend time together.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
This is one of your highlights. your staff was very outgoing, professional and made a difference. Every interaction we had with them was positive. Would really like to acknowledge our housekeeper - Zya. She always had a smile and made us feel very welcome.
Ship Quality

The ship was very clean. Nice job. The layout was confusing and very tight. The hallways were tight as it was and you had all kinds of promotion tables taking up space.
Cabin / Stateroom

I'll give you a 5 on this because it was all of the above. Unfortunately our suite location turned out to be a negative on the last night. Due to weather conditions we heard the fog horn all night. Both of us got very little sleep, maybe a couple hours. Total disappointment.
Parking was adequate. Would have been nice to have a luggage drop off area. I found the communication was adequate but confusing. Didn't like to fact the porter solicited a tip from me. His loss. I would have given him more if he hadn't said anything.
Once again - confusing. Weather (fog) caused a delay by 4-5 hours. The crew did try to manage the situation and did a pretty good job but what were told to do was not what happened. It was a tough situation for them, lots of people on edge, but they really tried hard to make it a palatable as possible. Once again, communication was confusing and conflicting. I'm sure it was due to the situation because prior to the delay it looked like it was a good plan. Once again, Cameron took on a leadership role and did a good job.
Your right about that. I had a grand suite and other than the room being big there were no extra amenities. Love the way Royal treats you when your in a suite
