This trip cured me of ever wanting to cruise again. Ugh!
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Check in and arrival onboard went quickly and painlessly. The weather wasn’t especially cooperative, so while we stood outside to watch the ship reach open sea, it was chilly and windy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was mediocre, at best, and arrived cold most of the time. We truly liked our server and her team. Even the food at the buffets, while better than the main dining room, was below par. We were very surprised by that.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The comedian was good, we really enjoyed him. The other shows were not great, which is what we expected. Most “onboard activities” involved the ship taking opportunities to sell various items. Disappointing!

Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Our dining room staff were very good! Pleasant and remembered our names from the first day.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
This ship has been refurbished and parts of it reflect that. Our bathroom, however, smelled horrible the entire trip, we complained, but they were unable to remedy it.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin itself was larger than we expected of an interior stateroom. The bed and bedding were very comfortable. Storage and fixtures were well thought out for,the most convenience.
Ship tip
We had rolling seas the entire time. I cannot stress enough how important it is to prepare for that. We were actually fairly seasick the majority of the time, all 4 of us.
Nassau reminded me a little bit of New Orleans, beauty beside absolute distress. Even Atlantis seems to be slowly sliding into disrepair. The aquarium was amazing, however! We really enjoyed that! I thought the people would be more kind. I believe they weary of tourists.
Don't give up. Different time, ship, port, route, company could make a difference. It seems this ship have a problem with the bathrooms, as it is a recurring comment. Hope Carnival is looking into it as they just spent a lot of money on refurbishing the ship.
I love Jacksonville port, embarkation and debarkation were both the smoothest of any port I've been to, twice in a row. We were on by 11:30 and off and on the interstate by 8:30 on debarkation day. And no more customs forms there, just makes things even faster!
From reading your review I really don't see anything to make you say "This trip cured me of ever wanting to cruise again" you liked how larger your cabin was than expected, liked dining room staff, liked most shows, weather, well you can't help that. "Mediocre" food, yeah maybe cruising just isn't for you!!!!
