As long as we had a suite we would definitely do it again. The ship was comfortable, food was very good, entertainment was decent and all of the staff were great
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had a suite and had Priority Boarding which was private, fast and allowed us to get on the ship quickly
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
My wife and I had anytime dining. We were seated immediately at a table for two every time. All the staff were friendly, called you by name and made every effort to make you feel cared for.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The only downside was the small pool area which was always pretty crowded. The shows at night were great and bingo was fun
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The two evening shows, Diva's and Rock Music were very good. In fact the later was excellent
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
As previously mentioned the restaurant staff were just great. Our suite Stewart, Marko was pleasant and kept our room neat and clean throughout our trip
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The only drawback is that the ship is older and it's decor needs to be updated. We fortunately had a suite and these are the only rooms with a balcony
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Roomy, comfortable and nice balcony. The bathtub shower was elevated and at 6'2" my head was close to the ceiling. Decor was dated and worn, but overall comfortable
Ship tip
Unless they update the rooms soon, do not get an inside room. We peeked in one and it literally looked the size of a closet
The port was dirty and industrial. We got off the ship, looked at the few outdoor market stores that were selling junk souvenirs and returned to the ship in less than 10 minutes
HEY, about that slam on inside cabins, I resemble that remark! They're a lot bigger than the one YOU saw, which must be one of those Inside Cabin Category 1As. They are tiny and weirdly shaped. Carnival's standard inside is around 185 sq ft. I've been happy with another person inside on Destiny (now Sunshine) and Fascination, and find them larger than comparable inside cabins on Norwegian Pearl, Sky and RCCL's Liberty of the Seas. It's true that you have to get away from the port area in Freeport, head to the beach or get on a boat. Nassau is scenic, historic, with great food cheaply had (if you know where) and a lot of fun. I've shot a lot of video shot in Nassau, but not aboard Elation. My daughter and I were aboard her out of New Orleans bound for Cozumel and a good time. I'm curious if your experience aboard Elation compared with ours. Check out my video and drop me a note.
