Review summary

First time I have been on a cruise where I did not see any white caps. I got to sit outside at night and read without getting a wind burn. Thank you Mother Nature. Staff on ship were wonderful.

Embarkation

We had VIP sign in. WOW that was great. Fast and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Once we figured how small the dinner portions were, we ordered a second entrees. Our waiter figured it out too, and was great. My son asked for more shrimp with dinner, when he (my son) could not decide what type of shrimp to order, the waiter brought him a nice dish with different varieties ( fried, baked etc)

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pool was never crowded. Lots of chairs available to watch my daughter in the pool. As always, hot tub was packed. Looked like a something you would see on MTV.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Good shows

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
We took in as much as we could. Daughter was happy

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very attentive. We lost A/C in our cabin. We called our steward and he had an engineer at our room within 5-10 min with the A/C working again. I had two family members that did not want to go on their excursions. I refunded one before we the excursion. The other I got my money back two days after. Excellent customer service to me. No bitching or yelling, just we are sorry they could not make it, and your account has been credited for the refund.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Old ship that needs upgrades. It was clean, but dated

Cabin / Stateroom

Tub was dirty. Magic eraser and DOW would help. I thought my son cut himself shaving. He said our new towels had blood on them. He tells me this after we get off the ship. Dated room. Needs an upgrade.

Ship tip

The ships app is great with your ability to know what is going on the ship with activities and port times. You can also check your account balance as well. We had issues with the Chat product ( $5.00).Sometimes the text was sent, other times they received it late. I was in the back of the ship and I got a lot of "failed to send" messages. We did sign up for the $48 internet service. Slow is being kind here. We used it to check email and use Facebook. It was reliable. I have T-mobile. They offer free text messages in the Bahamas. You can access your data, but will pay for phone calls. I think it said .25 a minute. At least I was able to stay in contact with other members of my party on the islands as we all went in different directions.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

4 out of 5
Drove down early, and stayed in Jacksonville at the Indigo Hotel. Clean and nice. 20 min drive to the port. Pay for parking early and save money

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Freeport is run down. Storms looked like they cleadestroyed the place and there is no rebuilding that I could see.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Nice to visit.clean

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The ship had a plan, and with one exit point, things went well. One member of my party needed a wheelchair. Staff helped her as soon as she got off the boat, and made arrangements for a shuttle to take her to our car. Very pleased with their attention to us.

That's strange. I always bring a clip-on battery-powered combination flashlight and fan for creating a tropical breeze for reading outside on those still nights. Holy smokes, I'm guessing you must have been there right before a parade or motorcade with some VIP, if Nassau was clean. It's a top-ten place to visit, but not like going to Vancouver. Although my daughter and I sailed aboard Elation out of New Orleans bound for Cozumel, I'm sure our experiences aboard were comparable. Check out my video and see how the pool gets full. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b7VSZOlei4&t=2s

Glad you could experience wind-free, night time outdoor reading. Who knew there was such an activity (lol).
