Review summary

The best part of the cruise was getting off the ship for the shore excursions. The port of Nassau was very nice.  The day was much more entertaining than anything on the ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Cold food and tasteless

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The swimming pools were a joke. We estimated the capacity of the three pools combined would be 70 people on a ship that had 2600 passengers. I actually thought at first that the pools were hot tubs.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Limited entertainment

Children's Programs

3 out of 5

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Very disappointed in the communication to the passengers

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Step back in time to 1990

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Twin size beds were 34" not 39 " which is a standard twin bed

Ship tip

My one tip for someone thinking of cruising with Carnival is to do your research and definitely pick a different cruise company!!

Traveler Photos

These 2 pools are VERY small. More like hot tub size. Pool with slide is very small and the maximum depth is 4'9".

I'm very confused about the comments on this post, why are there so many negative things to say when the OP said nothing negative.

So sorry that the ship did not meet your expectations.  Thanks for posting your two photos.

Sorry cruising is not for you.   A bit of research before any vacation can do a lot of good.   Plenty of photo's of the ship all over the internet to know what she looks like. (look her up on youtube to see video's of the cabins and public rooms of the ship)   A ship cabin is smaller then a hotel room so beds may be a bit smaller also.   I never saw a review where somebody measures the bed.   Did you pack a tape measure ?

It's too bad that you didn't enjoy your cruise, but a land vacation at an all inclusive resort may suit you better. The pools on a cruise ship are not "swimming" pools, they are for cooling off only. Perhaps some research prior to your cruise, and reading reviews on this site and others would have helped you to have a better time.

Sorry you had some snafus on your cruise. Our least favorite parts of any cruise are embarkation and debarkation.  We enjoy going to the Pirates museum in Nassau.  What did you do there?  Welcome to the world of cruising.

WOW.. Such a well informed review, from a FIRST TIME cruiser.

The Elation is due for a dry dock upgrade this summer, but my wife and I did a B2B (oh.. sorry, for a newbie, that is a Back to Back cruise) in February, and had a GREAT time...  We have cruised her before, and have booked a family cruise for this December.  We hope that there are few fellow cruisers like you onboard... We will be there to have FUN... not nit-pick.
