Review summary

This was the first vacation since my husband passed in 2008.  I went with my daughter and we had a wonderful time.  Our table mates and the staff made each meal one to remember. Conti and I Darin 1 and 2  had other tables but made each table feel as if there were the only one.  We also used the Spa and if anyone is looking for a great massage I highly recommend Rosalie.  The staff on board were always friendly and helpful and made the trip special in so many different ways.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent and we tried almost every dining experience. The convenience of the grill and pizza bar made it so we didn't have to interrupt our sitting on deck.

Onboard Activities

As usual a lot of variety for everyone's taste. The talent was very good and enjoyable.

Entertainment

Children's Programs

No children went with us but the children we talked to seemed to really like the activities.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Even though the seas were choppy the ride was not bad at all. The sizes of the rooms and variety of décor was quite enjoyable.

Cabin / Stateroom

My daughter had cruised on another line and was very surprised how large and comfortable our cabin was. One on the reasons I like Carnival is that they usually have larger cabins than other lines and that is important to me. Our steward, Michael, kept the room in pristine condition and we always had fresh ice in the ice bucket. A big thanks to Michael.

Ship tip

Take a little time to explore the ship when you first get on so you will be familiar with the layout. It is not a hard ship to learn so just a short trip around to acquaint yourself really helps.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

Park across the street is very convenient and cost effective.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

We started in the shade of the trees so we were able to stay out longer than we had expected. The view of our ship so close was breathtaking. Snorkeling was OK but not spectacular.
