Review summary

We live in central GA so to drive to Jacksonville is an easy trip for us. Four nights are just enough get away to relax. Freeport was disappointing for there is not much to do there. We've been to Nassau several times and shopping for jewelry is great. The Elation has been refitted since we first sailed on it. It's clean but smaller and older than some of the others in the fleet but now refitted it was good. Nightly entertainment was lacking. The comedy club star only used 4 letter words and we left after a few minutes. Hasboro the game show is a waste of time and boring for multi time cruisers like us.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Carnival has been cutting back, no lobster any more. Only if you pay to dine.

Cabin / Stateroom

There is a box in the corner of the room for life jackets. This gets in the way and you have to crawl over it to get in/out of bed. Our room was quiet and smooth.

Ship tip

In Freeport they were announcing reduced price trips.

Ports of call

Jacksonville, Florida

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Too industrial and nothing within walking distance

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Small downtown 4 blocks square but lots of jewelry stores with god prices.

5th cruise in 5 years I am from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and like to cruise in the cold months to get away and so I don't fly so I take Amtrak down to Jacksonville which is also part of a vacation it's a nice ride and things to do and it's overnight so when we pull in Jacksonville we go straight to the cruise port arriving about 10 a.m. enjoy your cruise

You should check out the Mobile port. It may be the same distance or close with new ports.

Port Lucaya is the place to go in Freeport. Just a short taxi or bus ride and there is a pretty harbor, lots of shops and restaurants, free beach nearby. Do a little research and.you won't be disappointed.😉🚢
