Review summary

although this is one of the older ships it is my 2nd time on the elation.  There was something to do all day. the ship was very clean and the entire staff was excellent. The deli area was ok but the buffet hot bar food was only so so.  I wish they would bring back steak and lobster night and escargot. Tons of excursions for any fitness level. I'm sorry Carnival will stop using this ship over the summer.  This is about my 9th cruise and in twelve more sailing days I will be at platinum status.  In Progresso the weather got bad and we stayed in port an extra 9 or so hours.  I am so grateful the captain stayed, and he spent the next sea day making sure we got back to New Orleans right on time!  I've already planned my next cruise with Carnival.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

The dinner meals lacked some taste on things. only 3 things. (the lobster bisque was awful and sent back by lots of people, the crab cake had WAAAAY to much mayo and the deli's pastromi was dry as sin.

I'm gonna miss the Fascination too

We are bringing the Elation to Jacksonville on a 10 Day Southern Caribbean Journey Cruise on 4/13 - 4/23. We booked a Jr suite so we are excited to see the difference in the suites. I heard it's just like the Fascination's balcony stateroom, but larger and with a bar under the TV, a sofa and a coffee table. I love the smaller ships! We really are going to miss the Fascination!

I'm going on the Elation May 2nd! This is my 2nd cruuse, first time on Elation. They are moving Fascination to Puerto Rico, and Elation to Jacksonville. I wanted to go on Fascination again to see my favorite waiters, it's kinda sad.

Wife and I are going on the Dream in September. We were on this same cruise as this lady and coming home after we finally got to leave Progresso was pretty rough at times.

I know I'm scheduled to leave out of Jackson in September

Look at upcoming cruises they have them listed all they way into 2018 for the Elation out of Jacksonville.

twmann27    8 years ago

Have no clue. Maybe what she understood. They are rotating several ships with one going back to Mobile.

kelsey1909    8 years ago

Then why did she say they wouldn't use the ship over summer

twmann27    8 years ago

They are still going to use it. It's moving to Jacksonville Florida and the Triumph is coming to New Orleans.

They have lobster on formal night for 20 buck and they did have escargot one night!
