Geat Big Last Summer Cruise

Sail Date: August 13, 2011

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our second cruise and the ship by far much better. The whole 5 days we were on the ship not once did they have to shut the pool down because some kids/parents can't keep the unpotty trained kids out of the water. I loved the fact that they did not keep the ship very cold...except for the evening dinning hall but that is expected. Thoughout the day you can walk around the ship and not have to worry about freezying. I loved the food for breakfast as well as the lunch and snacks. I would like to see more options for the dinner. Elegant night was awsome and just all in all we had younge kids all the way upto senior citizens and everyone enjoyed the cruise. Nice quite places throughout the ship to just relax and read a book! I would go again and again and would highly recommand the Carnival Elation. Our first ship was the Carnival Holiday, which no longer exists. For the price this was a great cruise. i would love to have just couple of more wall outlest to charge all the eletronics we all have these days!

Pros: The ship was nice and nice pool area for the kids

Cons: The dinner manue needs to be a little better

Recommends Carnival Elation? Yes!

Children's Programs
the facility looked clean and larger than the holiday ship. Although our kids did not utalize this facility, we did look into it. They had good variety of activities.

The comedy show was the best! Both the family and adults showes were excellent.
Cozumel, Mexico
We took a taxi down to the local beach and spend few hours and it was the best. The water was so crystal clear and no one on the beach selling things so you can just enjoy your time. The resturant on the beach was excellent and they had a spa station as well as hemocks! We even saw few peacocks!
Don't Miss: The Beach! Forget the shopping....go to the beach!!!!
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
We did not visit any of the sites. We got off the boat and walked around the shops but I think it would be fun to take the tours if you don't have younge kids. Shopping was okay not much different from other mexico ports.
