Fun, short cruise. Was our daughters first, so we didn’t want a long one.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This was far and away the easiest embarkation I’ve experienced. We were assigned a time of 12-1230 for boarding. We got there at around 1130. There was a line marked “early or late arrivals”. We went through that line and were on the ship within 20 mins. Don’t know why the even bother assigning boarding times. Really quick process though.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
As usual, Carnival didn’t disappoint with the food. Delish!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Older, smaller ship. Only one pool and it stayed packed. The slides were pretty cool. Splash pad had some spots not working. They have ping pong, mini golf, and shuffleboard. Not too bad overall.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Traveled with two kids so couldn’t enjoy too many shows. The America Rocks show was one the best I’ve seen though. Very cool show.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
My 10 year old enjoyed the camp activities.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Couldn’t have been more attentive in the dining room. Steward was also great.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We knew going in it was an older ship. The Fantasy class ships are getting a little long in the tooth. The staff do a wonderful job keeping it clean, but there is only so much they can do. It needs painting and refurb. There were broken floor tiles, rust spots all over, and the glass is pretty dirty looking.
Cabin / Stateroom

Nice, cozy cabin.
Ship tip
Make sure you understand the age and size of this ship. It’s small by today’s standards. It’s old. It has issues.
This port is in the middle of nowhere. There is a hotel and a Wendy’s about 1/2 mile away. That’s about it. The zoo is about 5 miles away. The beaches are 12-15 miles away and the city of Jax is about 15 miles away. You’ll have to drive a good little bit to go anywhere.
We didn’t do any excursions, so I can’t speak to that. We just walked around and did our own thing. They did say the state department had issued a travel advisory due to the crime in the area. But we never felt unsafe. You will have people trying to sell you stuff, but you tell them no and they leave you alone.
It’s ok. Typical private island. Very rocky, take water shoes. Beach chairs are free. They have these little shade chair things. They are $30 for the day. Vendors are set up all over the island. You can also rent floats and such.
This was a little rough. The staff didn’t seem to be sure what was going on. The stewards were going room to room and asking people to leave. Once we left, the other staff told us to go wait in our rooms. It was confusing and kinda crazy. Once we started moving, though, it was pretty smooth. They called our floor at 8:00 and we were in the terminal at about 8:30.
