Great cruise for an old ship. Our family enjoyed the vacation. I think the room service for coffee every morning was my favorite part! Drinks at poolside was good and the water park for the kids was so fun to watch them play.
Embarkation

No problems! We parked on the lot, dropping off our luggage was a cinch. Rode the shuttle bus to the terminal and there was efficient lines throughout the check in process. Very nice employees and so helpful.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
First time on the Ecstacy and I knew of it’s age. Ship was clean and the food was good. I did notice there wasn’t an emphasis on individual hand sanitizing at the buffet as I’ve encountered on other cruises. Staff was very personable and service was excellent.
Onboard Activities

I am from a punctual world. Meaning, if something is to start or open at a stated time, it happens at that time if not a few minutes before. This ship was nothing like this. They certainly sailed on Island Time. It is a cruise, it is a relaxing time. I get it. But when you ask and are given an answer by several members of the crew, you would think it would be true. I noticed this throughout the ship. I had my young grandchildren who were anxious for the water works park to open and it was several disappointments for them. They enjoyed their cruise anyway!
Entertainment

The shows we attended were very good. We all enjoyed the performances. We didn’t stay for the Game Show, that didn’t pique our interest. The other performances were nice.
Children's Programs

This cruise had a lot of children. My granddaughter’s enjoyed the Kids Clubs.
Service and Staff

Excellent service from staff. They learned your names and called you by name when they saw you. Our room attendant, Su, was top notch!
Ship Quality

Was a nice ship. Can tell it’s age but for the size and type of ship, it is a nice cruise!!
Cabin / Stateroom

I thought the walls and door were metal and was disappointed I couldn’t use my magnets. Other than that, everything was great! Clean, roomy and plenty of storage for clothes. Wish we had a refrigerator but I was provided ice twice a day so I was fine with that. Bathroom was fine. Shower was good. Beds were ok. Could have been a little softer for my taste. I was happy with my room.
Ship tip
Enjoy your cruise! Live on Island Time and don’t worry about anything. Staff are very pleasant and hard working. Tip extra if you can!
I live in Charleston but this is the first time I went to the port. Very well laid out and they have a system to get you to your destination. Just follow the signs. It is easy and no problems! We didn’t get Faster to the Fun and had no issues going on board timely.
I didn’t go to the island (stayed at the pool and read a book drinking beverages) but the family had a great time. Easy trip over and back. Efficient systems in place. They didn’t eat on the island.
We pulled in and there was two ships, ours and another Carnival ship. By the time we got off the ship and walked to the gate at the port, there were 5 ships in port. Too many people. We did the horse and carriage tour and it was nice. It was hard to hear our tour guide. We stopped at a small pub and enjoyed a beer did a few stops for souvineers and went back on ship. The straw market can be very aggressive, just say no thank you.
Very efficient process. We were concerned that we would not be able to get our car out of the parked line up but no issues with that at all. No issues to get off the ship, gather luggage and ride to our car.
