Review summary

This cruise is not worth the money. Carnival is cheap and this is their low end. Travel to port Canaveral and take a cheap Royal Caribbean cruise. You will be so much happier that you did. Dont let the convenience of Charleston make the decision like it did for me. Another 4 hours of driving and the week would have been much better.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
This is the worst part of the cruise. Food service is very slow, food is low quality, portions are very small. I have been on 21 cruises and this was the worst food and service by far.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
As expected there is not much to do on this old ship. Carnival does not really try to even make it fun like Royal does on their older small ships.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Comedy show was good, stage shows were even low end for Carnival. They were a tad better than a high school musical.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Service is nonexistent on this ship. It is very strange because most cruises at least make an effort. On this ship it is like you are a nuisance.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship is a classic old style. It is showing alot of wear and they are not keeping it up well.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin is one of the new ones after the fire, so it is not too bad. Nothing great, just an average cabin.

Ship tip

It is convenient to sail from Charleston. The problem is this ship is so bad. Drive to Florida and have a much better trip.

If you can drive the distance from Charleston to Port Canaveral in 4 hours, then you must be driving like a bat outta hell. Even with perfect driving conditions (which as we all know almost NEVER happens!) Google lists it as almost a SIX HOUR drive, and when we did it, it was closer to SEVEN. Also, unlike Charleston, I believe Port Canaveral does NOT offer free handicapped parking. I do agree that RCL does offer some nice cruise options from that port while Carnival only has the Ecstasy ported in Charleston. But that will be changing in the spring when The Ecstasy relocates and Charleston gets The Sunshine. Anyway, the point is, commuting to Florida and then having to pay for parking adds a healthy amount of money to the cost of a cruise for many folks who had to budget to take a cruise in the first place!😎

Well for being on so many cruises they have none listed on their profile, not even this one. I'm thinking this is a fake review.

I have not been on a bad Carnival ship yet. To me it’s the other way around. I have done both Carnival and Royal Caribbean and I love Carnival hands down!!!
