Review summary

This was my first cruise & for the most part was pretty dang awesome!!! The ship itself, even though it’s nearly 26 years old was in really good shape...the views were beautiful of the ocean, the inside of the ship was a little dated but in a romantic sort of way...the only complaint inside the ship was the area adjacent to the casino - it was always smelly from cigarette smoke - no ventilation that I could detect...and you had to pass through this area to get to other parts of the ship...the crew were super friendly and always helpful...no matter the question they all knew the answer...the entertainment options were not bad...from musicals to comedy shows to movies - just about anything for everyone...Princess Cay was absolutely beautiful - the water was the color of jade that turned to the deepest cobalt as you got farther away from the shore...the sand was beautiful & soft...the water was really salty (more so than other beaches I’ve been to) - a bit rocky but manageable, the food that was offered was not bad (burgers, hotdogs & salads)...the weather was almost perfect too...Nassau was more commercialized that I realized - the hustle & bustle of a large city...and lot’s of vendors selling pretty much the same thing as each other...still was nice though, again the weather was near perfect...coming back & debarkation was flawless & quick...I’m now hooked on cruising & cannot wait for my next cruise!!!

This place was like an oasis from another time - it was all dark leather, marble & beautiful artwork...the giant globe at the entrance gave it an air of adventures yet taken...the place had that feel of a 1940’s era speakeasy and was nice, quiet and romantic...we loved this place!

Cabin / Stateroom

The stateroom was roomier than I expected and the view was nice - the only complaint was the shower - it leaked every time we took a shower - the water would come out underneath the wall inside the stateroom, the carpet was always wet around the wall outside the bathroom...we complained but nothing was ever done other than a technician came looked at it and left...nothing.

Ship tip

I paid for the premium wifi service only because I was hoping to update my Instagram account during the trip — wanted to keep an online daily photo journal of the trip....the internet is horrible, I paid $50 for wifi that was only about 20% reliable

Wasn't really impressed with Nassau, but to be fair, our cruise was just a few months after the major hurricane came through.... still dont regret going. We had a great time.

I think it’s time, though, for a complete overhaul in dry dock.

I sailed this ship way back in 2000, and was the reason I fell in love with cruising. 😊
