Review summary

Overall, I enjoyed the time away and relaxation. It was an old ship and you could tell. I liked the shaded retreat on the lido deck but HATED it was a smoking area too. My room ceiling was buckling. It's a great cruise for a first timer. Good choice of activities to attend on te sea days. Drinks could have been better.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
My first ETOH drink was really good. The other ones didn't taste like they even added any liquor in them. So glad they has free tea and lemonade. The main dining room was great. I was assigned to the Wingsong. Great staff and service. Richard and Henry remembered everyone's name! The Windstar staff was not as attentive. I was seated in a corner by the server's areas and still waited over 30 mins for a cup of ice. I felt like they forgot about me and overlooked me at times. The buffets served great hot food. I loved the Carribean feast! The main dining room food was not as good as far as selections and taste.

Onboard Activities

The pool water was warm which leant to a very relaxing time. I enjoyed the 15 min yoga session. I played Bingo and didn't win but enjoyed playing. The last Bingo game was worth $5000. Nobody won because all the numbers had been called and they voided the original amt and gave $600 to the next winner. I loved the Hasboro games!! So fun and exciting that the little boy won the take home prize. I also really enjoyed the show with Motown's songs and performances! So much fun!

Entertainment

The Motown show was fantastic!! I loved the after party! The DJs was good too! Played all the great hits and had everyone on the dance floor.

Service and Staff

My room attendants were great! Saman and I can't remember the other guys name. The waiters in the Windsong dining room was great! Richard and Henry were so nice and personable. Always had a positive experience with the staff. Always said good morning. The only thing I did not like was how they would ALWAYS pressure you to buy DRINKS!

Cabin / Stateroom

The rails were dusty and the sheets had holes and stains on them. The pillow cases has stains on them also and were not changed.

Ship tip

Bring a water bottle because the cups are so small.

The trip in a long walk and the first impression was not good. The building and vendors looked torn and worn. There were plenty of eateries and tourists spots within walking distance from the ship. The excursion was ok. I didn't it was worth $65 though. It did not even last an hour. The tour guide Sharlene was great and comical.

Disembarkation
