Review summary

The ship was great. There were activities for almost everyone. The ship's pool was open but there wasn't alot of people swimming, mostly due to the wind blowing. In fact, one day the ship was rocking quite a bit that the water in the one of the pools to the aft was splashing out of the pool. We had a balcony suite stateroom and it was large and roomy. There was a jacuzzi tub, which was high off the floor and gave me a little bit of a problem getting in and out, especially since the shower door wouldn't open all the way. Other than this, the ship was wonderful.

Ports of call

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

We had originally purchased our shore excursions prior to leaving on the trip. However, on the first full day we received a notice that our excursion out of Progresso was cancelled. We had wanted to take the boat ride to Flamingo Reserve. No one told us prior to our purchase that it was no longer in operation due to lack of interest. We had to go to the shore excursion desk to pick another option. It was at this time that the woman told us that they hadn't had any one ask for this tour in a long time. I think they should have told us ahead of time or taken it off the tour options on line. At least they credited us and applied it to another one. We picked the Chichen Itza Ruins. It was a 2 1/2 hour ride to the ruins by bus and 2 1/2 hours back, which made for a long day. You get back to the ship about 30 minutes before it leaves port. It was a good photograph opportunity, but you are not allowed to climb the steps of the ruins.

We had a shore excursion to Chankanaab Park which was very pretty. It was like a botanical gardens with a beach. There were several iguanas roaming around near a lagoon area but they didn't bother people. Th dolphin swim is nearby. We also saw replicas of the Mayan Ruins.

Pros: The Country musical show

Cons: The rocking of the ship on the 2nd day out and on the way back. Also, my husband is a vegetarian and there was not a lot of options for him except salad and fruit at the dinner sittings.
