It was mediocre and after 3 cruises with Carnival, I will not sail with them again. I feel I can get more with another cruiseline.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was the best part. It was quick and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The food was awful! It was always cold, the choices were limited, and the quality was below a traditional buffet. From the first meal on the ship to the last meal, everything was mediocre. This was the biggest disappointment of the entire cruise and one that Carnival had control over!
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
My friends and I were only able to get in the hot tub once. Partially due to the weather, partially due to crowding when the weather was good. When we did, the water was barely warm. We asked for the temperature to be turned up and was told it couldn't be. Wow. Just wow.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
This was a highlight of the cruise. Pretty good stage shows and the club played good music.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Amy was the best in the night dining and so was Putu our stateroom steward. Everyone else wasn't attentive or accommodating.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ships layout and design were nice, but there are renovations that need to be done in the common areas and staterooms. Overall, it was fine but dated
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The room was dated and needs some updating. The balcony was dirty and filled with rust. Nice bed and space.
Ship tip
Provide edible straws either complimentary or at a cost but dont deny someone the right to have some kind of straw. You may want to invest in reusable straws. Also, provide better quality food. Food should not be ice code and sour at any time. This is unacceptable!
No one regulates the rules with disembarkation which cause a big mess. People were going down before their floor was called which crowded the elevators for those who were called and there were no floor attendants there to enforce the rules!
I’ve heard this ship needs some love and the food was subpar. I will say I’m picky too and booked to sail in April for a girls trip. I’ll make the best of it, I guess.
Try a newer Carnival ship like Vista. The breeze will be back in Galveston soon and then Radiance is also coming and it will be fairly fresh out of dry dock and big renovation. We sailed on Royal’s Freedom of the Seas and it wasn’t my favorite. It was dirty and dated. I believe it’s currently in dry dock. I think I just prefer newer ships.
You must be a very unhappy person. NOTHING pleases you. No matter which cruise line you choose I am sure you would pick them apart as well. Your glass is always half empty I feel. Love the Dream and Carnival
