Review summary

It was alright.... JUST alright. The ship is nice but the amenities are not comparable.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
There were too many people for elevators to be off at embarkation. The wait for an elevator was about 40 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The main dining room was okay. The wait staff was awesome, the food, not so awesome. I was surprised that Lobster was only available for a surcharge on Captain's night. The breakfast buffet was tasty but they had issues getting the food out fast enough for the crowd. We waited about 20 minutes for french toast.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
I wanted to play bingo but sis not want to pay 30.00 to play. We attended a few shows. People walked out of the comedy show, it was awful. The casino was fun, I hit two jackpots. Pool on LIDO deck was too small for the amount of people on the ship.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We also attended a few shows, they were great. There are a lot of talented people hired to perform.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
there was one waiter ( tall white guy with glasses) who snatched a receipt and pen out of my hand because I ordered two drinks at one time. I was not aware that I could not and he obviously became upset that I had done so. I continued to treat him respectfully and he continued to make remarks as he walked away. I reported him to the bar supervisor. No one should be treated that way. Our room steward was fantastic.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Cleanliness was not an issue. I did notice that there are no trash cans around.... but there was also no trash. People were always cleaning.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
you should never book this room. There is no way to get any rest in this room. I am not sure how close it is to the Encore theater but it is like having a front row seat to every presentation, show, and rehearsal. The music can be heard loud and clear in this room. You can even feel the vibration from the speakers. One night after the final Rock and Roll show, we heard Christmas music. It didn't take us long to realize that they were rehearsing for Christmas, fully mic's with instruments. I called downstairs to Guest Services and was told to wait it out, it would be over soon.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
This port is heavily employed with Medicare recipients which slowed down the process tremendously.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We visited Mr Sanchos and it was great. The port was nice and welcoming. I would have liked to have spent more time in Cozumel. I felt rushed to get back to the ship.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We were on Deck 6 but were last to disembark. But somebody has to be last so.... no issue.

Pools on all ships seem to be too small.

40 min wait for elevator?? How about taking the stairs to avoid the wait?

My thoughts exactly... Compared to what? Did you choose your cabin or did you allow the cruise line to assign one. Sometimes the savings aren't worth it for the room assignment given by the ship.

Amenities not comparable to what?? You have no former cruises listed. It is evident you are not a seasoned cruiser or you would have done your research. You had a starboard inside cabin directly over the Encore theater. You would also know that lobster is only served on formal nights on 7 day or longer cruises. Stop being a curmudgeon. Smile. You hit two jackpots. Try and have a nice day.
