I came in expecting the same as my last cruise, nothing. Do that and I do believe you will make a better memory for yourself.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Our embarkation time was 1230 and we breezed through with no problems. We were able to get on the ship soon after checking in. This was my second cruise and I just the late checking runs more smoothly than the early check in.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
This time around I ate only from the deli and guys burgers. I love the tuna sandwich from the deli and the burgers are, to me, the best. I ate at the crimson restaurant as part of the assigned Dinning.
The pork chop and Salmon were very tasty. I enjoyed it. I stuck to what I liked and found that it made my trip enjoyable. I have one downside and it probably not worth mentioning but the captions dinner was not that great. It took forever to get served and when it finally arrived it was hot. I am going to chalk this to they were just overwhelmed.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I didn’t do any activities this time. I wanted to relax and watch. That to me was the best time. I didn’t want to be on the go so I just did me and I loved it
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Again, no activities this time around. Next cruise
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
As usual, my girl who is the total opposite of me in this regard had no problems making friends. I’m glad she is outgoing and funny, because I’m not, lol
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Some of the staff looked disconnected, liked they were tired or so over this serving and smiling that goes with the job. Sometimes you just can’t fake it. I don’t know how they woke up or what bad news, if any came their way. Can’t and won’t try to judge. I get it and I got enough smiles to make up for the ones I didn’t get
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The design of the ship really wasn’t a concern for me. The layout was very different from the Freedom but I got use to it quickly. I think every ship will be different in how it’s laid out. Take ur time, look at the ships picture floor by floor and you should be fine. You can always ask as well
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Typical cabin. The cove balcony seemed to the the same as the balcony on the freedom. Maybe a bit bigger but I couldn’t tell. I really like the balconies just for the scenery of the open water. I will tell you all about the interior cabin on my next cruise coming up in December. It’s not a few dollars for the upgrade and believe it it or you will spend time in the cabin if it becomes crowded and you just want to get away from the traffic. It’s worth the view if nothing else.
Ship tip
Please come with an open mind. Try not to nitpick or you will ruin your vacation and think it’s someone else’s fault. It’s a vacation that you’ve been waiting for and counting down to so please know everything won’t be to your liking, it’s not perfect!!
Galveston port is just that place to get from the terminal to the ship. It doesn’t offer any coffee shops or any place to enjoy the view of the water so it’s definitely industrial. If your used to the New Orleans port or other ports that offer that type of enjoyment then be prepared
No excursions this time around. Made our way to Mr. Sanchoz which was fun and relaxing. The food was good, the drinks were refreshing and the pool and beach very inviting.
I am a patient man, I try to work on it all the time but the debarkation was a lot. I made the mistake of not having my suitcase waiting for me in the terminal. So I had to be bothered lugging around what seemed like an endless turnstile. It was just a bit of a headache. Get your tags the night before and be bag free the day of.
We go to have a good time, not find fault or be ship inspectors and not to be the people police and we are not royalty. Always have a supper cruise. Next one in 13 days.
Glad you enjoyed your cruise 🚢 I agree with you. Come with an open mind. You make your cruise. I love the balcony cabin’s also. Love looking out at the water.
