Review summary

This was a great first cruise, made even better by the great staff in the Carnival Dream. A cruise is what you make of it... why not always make it the best?

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Lines are long if you don’t come during your check in window, but that’s the be expected. If you’re on time, you’re onboard pretty quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food at the buffet is what one would expect for a buffet. The food in the main dining room was consistently above average and service was great. Guy’s Burgers and Barbecue we’re both exceptional.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were a plethora of pools, hot tubs, games, and other activities in board. There is no reason to ever be bored on this ship.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The comedy was great, but didn’t see too many shows. I heard they were very enjoyable from others in the party.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
The staff was accommodating to my autistic cousin and he had a lot of fun in the teenager areas.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff in the main dining room as well as our cabin attendant were great. We were always greeted with a smile and taken very well care of.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I don’t see how a ship could be better designed or laid out than this. It was very easy to navigate and never crowded despite being fully booked. The common areas were clean and no issues were noticed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This a great balcony cabin in a higher lever of the ship. We had a great stateroom attendant that ensured we were always taken care of. The cabin was roomy and had plenty of storage. Storage and space in the bathroom was great as well. Spent plenty of time relaxing on the balcony, listening to the water, people watching, and reading. Enjoying the privacy. There was a bit of rust, but that’s common in all ships.

Ship tip

On embarkation day, there is a pasta bar in the second level of the lido buffet. No one knows it’s there, so it’s not busy a great place to grab a bite.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
What can I say, it’s Galveston? There’s so much to love about this little island town.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Cozumel was great. Paradise Beach offers and affordable getaway, but beware that the sand is very coarse and rocky. Water shoes are a must. The shops in the terminal offered a lot of great deals for those wanting to shop.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was disembarkation. Many people didn’t listen to the given instructions which delayed things quite a bit. However, this is not the staff’s fault... people will be people.
