Review summary

Not bad for 7 days. Just didn't expect such a loaded boat and crowds.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Having departed from Port Everglades, Jacksonville, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, and Seattle, I would have to say that this is the most crowded terminal, carved out on the side of the river. It is also not as clean, showing signs of residual dirt from the hurricane.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room was OK. Aft buffet was packed with people waiting on a table and the food was inadequate and sub par.

Onboard Activities

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Well trained and courteous.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Housekeeping was excellent. As a finishing touch, twice daily, they would soften the lights, place a new towel animal, and turn on mood music before leaving.

Ship tip

We actually enjoyed the Deck 1, since we could scoot right out at each port. Didn't miss the balcony at all. Also, don't expect much from the in-cabin TV. Not only is the set poor but the programming consists of CNN, CNN Spanish, CNN Headline, and CNN Business, plus a couple of oddball stations. We are not CNN fans and felt like we were being brainwashed!

The security people in the terminal were rude.

I find the port staff rude, too, but they aren't Carnival employees.

The ships always sail full, even if that means giving free cabins to gamblers.

Dream is a good size ship.

It's not a "little" boat.
