Review summary

The Carnival Dream "7 day western Caribbean" was somewhat of a dream.......Check in process was a breeze & so was embarking. (some people will not follow direction for the life of them) I really like the cruise director for enforcing those rules for embarking. Nice ship but, difficult getting from one end to the other (having to get off one elevator & catch another or do the stairs to get to your disired location), Good staff for the most part.....The ship Stewart Ida & her crew did an excellent job in keeping the cabins clean & addressing what ever issues there were. One of the head waiters (Valmaireter) seem to have an attitude & keep us waiting to be served, he never returned to our table the whole time yet he catered to a table just two over from us as if it was the only table on board! Thanks to his assistant for helping out. I hate people that hog the lounge chairs, especially in the Adult area of the ship. People were holding chairs for someone else hours on end. They say your things would be removed after 45 minutes of "NO SHOW" well, that was not the case.  People should also control their kids & are teenagers.  They played on the elevators like they were apart of the water slide.   Also, the staff (young man) in the gift shop could not speak much English or answer questions about the merchandise.  I also dislike the photo process......last day of embarking, people were stealing pictures & nothing was done! parents were stuffing pictures into their bags & children back packs. the sensors were going off but no one stopped them. We purchased over two hundred dollars worth of photos & I don't think it's fair to those that spend their hard earn cash to be ripped off by thieves. They should discontinue the photos or find a better way to accommodate all the guest aboard.  Just like you assign them a number for their cabin or reservation for dinner, do the same with the photo process. The buffet was A-Ok for the first few days, but then you kind of got tired of the same ole stuff, & the staff just seem to be making up stuff. We really enjoyed the shows (Great Job)

Ship tip

Read the reviews on the excursions before you book them. Spending hundreds of dollars for excursions & you spend most of your time on a bus, an hour to get to your destinations then ten minutes back on the bus again (repeatedly) only to make it back to the port & no time for shopping or to eat!
