Everything about this cruise was okay at best. Most first time cruisers seemed to be enjoying it but those with a few cruises under their belts seemed to feel it was lacking, myself included. We still had a good time.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Seemed to get to a slow start but once it got moving it went smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Okay is the best way to describe all the food we had. We ate at the buffet, main dining room and specialty restaurant. Nothing was bad but nothing knocked my socks off.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We couldn't get near the pool if we wanted to. There were plenty of trivia games etc. but the crew just didn't seem as excited as I am used to on Carnival. We also did Deal or No Deal which was fun.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Ok. Great if this was your first cruise.
Children's Programs
No children
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward, Noel was fantastic. As was our waiter, Mirabel in the main dining room. Generally, the service was fine just not what I have been accustomed to on my cruises prior to Covid.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is an old girl but is very well maintained. Common areas were clean and attended to regularly.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was roomy for a ship cabin with ample storage. The bed and sheets were super cozy and our steward made sure all our needs were tended to. This is an old ship so there aren't too many bells and whistles but the cabin has everything you need.
Ship tip
Great for a first time cruiser but for a more seasoned traveler it may leave a bit to be desired.
Nassau is not my favorite port and did not plan to leave the ship but since we could not get off due to whether at other ports we booked a "Cabana" on Arawak beach. Was nothing like the cabana we had booked for the private island. It was a pop up tent you would take to a football game with an air mattress, some rum punch and four beers. Not necessarily worth the price but the beach was nice and the service was good.
