This was a nice enough 4 day get away. If you want luxury, this is not the way to go. I would rate the cruise a C.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Service was wonderful but the food was mediocre. The dining room food was as good as a buffet. Not fancy or gourmet at all. I could have made it at home.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The pool was nice but very crowded.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We attended the comedy shows and the piano lounge, which had great music.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
All staff were very helpful and attentive. However, during 2 out of 3 breakfast meals, the service was lacking. We had to wait for at least 15 minutes to be waited on and service was slow. Dinner waiters and staff were great!
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship is old and outdated. Our cabin was near the stairway and we always smelled cigarette/pot smoke coming in (from the outside or hallway?)- which was not from us!
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
It was adequate, small and outdated.
Ship tip
If you want an average cruise, this is the way to go. If you want a quiet and relaxing getaway, this is not the best choice. There were lots of families and large groups of people which became overwhelming at times. Also, watch out for extra charges to your credit card. There were 5 times that we had unauthorized charges to our account and it was Carnival's mistake. This happened to several guests. They eventually corrected it after we waited in a long line for customer service.
We stayed at the beach for the day. The water was clear and the sand was beautiful. We rented a clam shell/shade, which was expensive but worth it. The free lunch bbq was great! We did have to pay for additional drinks, which should have been included in our drink cheers package (especially since the cruise line owns the island).
In order to disembark the ship, we had to wait on a very long line to get a pass to get off the ship. This was a huge waste of time and could have been handled in a more efficient manner.
Nassau was nice. We did a self guided tour through the downtown area- there were lots of shops, restaurants, and churches to see. The rum tasting was a great activity!
This was a mess. Although there were designated time slots for disembarkation, people were sitting (with their luggage) in the lobbies, blocking walkways and entrances. People were sitting for a few hours so they got cranky, irritable, and in some cases pushy.
Thanks for your honest review. Sorry it did not meet your expectations. Some folks love Carnival (We did years ago.) and wouldn’t try any other line. Try reading reviews or talk to a travel agent to best meet your needs. Good luck and keep cruising.
My solution to the disembarkation slobs is to avoid them by picking a flight that lets me sit on the lido deck and graze until the last minute. Then we walk off and usually have a short line. Of course, I suppose that makes me a different type of slob, but at least my fellow passengers are not affected.
She is a great Ship. Sailed on her twice and 2 sister Ship total of 3. Easy layout great flow. Carnival is working to get the weed issue handled, but dragging their feet on the older ships.
Thank you for your review and I’m glad you mostly enjoyed the cruise. Carnival is branded as the Fun Ships cruise line, so if you go into it with that understanding you’ll know you aren’t cruising Cunard. Go on Carnival to have fun, relax, cruise at your pace. Choose an upscale cruise line if that is what your looking for; there are so many options. During a cruise, your card on file will be preauthorized based on your expenditures, and your financial institution will hold those preauthorizations for several days, typically until the actual batch is received by the bank and cleared. Going to customer service for this each time is a waste of your time and theirs. Check your sail and sign activity on your hub app daily to verify purchases, and if all is okay there, it will be okay when all is said and done. Happy Sails 🛳️🏝️
