Nice cruise for a first timer. I wanted to do an older ship before I cruised a newer ship, just in case I was spoiled from newer experiences of being onboard.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth. Only issue was that they had one of the port entrances closed- so traffic, traffic, traffic. It took about 1.5hrs to get to our terminal when we were staying only 8miles away. This caused us to miss our boarding time (along with just about everyone else). Everything still went fine though.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
You can fine something that you like. Wish there were more simple dishes though. Just plain vegetables, plain rice, plane chicken/turkey/sausage, etc. Everything was a combination dish.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Fitness center was nice- hard to find, but nice. I didn't bother with the pools. Too crowded for my liking. Plenty of lounge chairs to enjoy the deck though.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Entertainment was soo much better than expected. I spent most my time at the comedy shows. The casino was nice as well, but I didnt bother. The bingo would have been good If we would have won- but in all honesty, its way too expensive. $48 for 3 rounds (1 card).
Children's Programs
No children travelled with me.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was great from everyone.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Someone was ALWAYS cleaning.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Seemed pretty clean. Toilet paper sucks.
Ship tip
Bring your own toilet paper and look at the ship layout before you choose your room. Try to avoid rooms over or under dinning, showrooms, clubs, etc.
I'm confused with what you were saying about the food as you are allowed to get as little or as much as you want. If you only
wanted veggies all you had to do was ask . No need to have to get a whole plate of everything. By the way, the Conquest was one of our favorite ships and we've been on 10 cruises.
Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. Don’t bring your own TP, it will clog up the toilets. Trust me on this one! Appreciate your detailed review. Glad you enjoyed your first cruise. Wishing you many more.
