Review summary
Cruise review for Carnival Conquest, 4-day cruise round-trip from Miami (December 12-16, 2022) Inside Stateroom #8214. ------------------------- PROS: ------------------------- Our stateroom attendant (Supa) was friendly and kept our stateroom nice and clean. Our stateroom had good shower water pressure and temperature controls. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was plenty of drawers, hangers and closet space too. As expected the food was excellent (especially the pizza, Guy's burgers, barbeque, salads and desserts). Half Moon Cay was great (nice clean water and beach). Comedian Jaylyn Bishop was very funny. She is a natural comedian. We went to three of her shows (all different material). She has lots of energy and tells great stories about her family and experiences. Make sure that you sit up front so you can see all her hilarious facial expressions! The band called Latin Fiesta with Toda la Banda is terrific. They are a high energy Latin band that plays great Latin dance music (Cha Cha, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata and Cumbia). We danced to their music every night. Also, the sound system in the Impressions Bar (right across from the casino) is the best I have heard on any of the Carnival sister ships. The ship looks great since its last renovation. ------------------------- CONS: ------------------------- Good desserts (cake and cookies) are only available in the buffet during lunch time. There are no cookies and only mediocre cakes in the buffet at dinner time. Carnival has also stopped making the really good salted chocolate chip cookies in the deli. The variety violin music played in the lobby was nice, but very little of it is danceable. Too bad since you have a nice empty wood dance floor during their shows. They play mostly popular sound tracks from movies. It would be nice if they would learn to play a few simple Waltz and Foxtrot tunes so people can dance. In consistent pizza quality from the Pizza Pirate. The first couple of days the pizza wasn't cooked enough (not crispy). I think they were only cooking it for 5 minutes (it really needs about 8 minutes). On the last day the pizza was cooked better (nice a crispy). Also, the roasted garlic that guests can sprinkle on their pizza was not available the first two days. Thankfully, after asking many times, the roasted garlic was made available on the last two days. The clock behind the guest services desk was broken (i.e. the time was off by several hours). The clock on the Lido deck by the pool was off by a half an hour. This needs to be fixed as not all of us want to carry our cell phones everywhere. The paper copy of the daily program incorrectly listed the attire as "casual" on elegant night. I believe the Carnival app was wrong too. This caused a lot of confusion for many guests. When returning to Miami, the ship parked in a different spot (terminal F) than the one we stared from (terminal D). This caused us to have to walk 3 tenths of a mile with our luggage in the rain on Friday morning to get back to our car that was parked in the parking garage in front of terminal D. We asked several times and no shuttle was provided.Embarkation
