Review summary

I have sailed on many cruise lines, and will sail on carnival again, but not for a bit. I will give them some time to get their act together. I will definitely check out the ship I sail on before I book my trip. This could have been so much better with just a few changes. This was a special occasion for me. And as cruised go this was not inexpensive primarily because of the time of year.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Crowded, although we reported for our allotted time. Confused staff and very poor comunication.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was decent, but the procedure for gaining your meals in the restaurants was not discussed and you had to figure it out for yourself. On my last cruise you received a package upon check in and all things were explained to you, not this time. You were just funneled in and left to your own accord. I eventually gleaned that you needed to use the carnival app to get anything done. On every carnival cruise I have taken there is always the undertow to upsell activities, art, and any extras. I like most purchase a few extras, however on this trip it was prevalent. It seems that the majority of the employees were preoccupied with upselling, and if you were not buying there was no help for you. Getting food late at night was upsetting, you should not have to wait in line 90 min. for a pizza. You know that this cruise was full those in charge should have the correct amount of personnel to accommodate. Again this went on night after night it was not just a one time thing.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Most activities were unavailable. Small pools overcrowded, insufficient deck chairs, and the gym the worst of all. I like to stay fit when I vacation and a few free weights and some treadmills are not a gym.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
This was the only bright spot. The lounge on the third floor was where I spent most of my time with regard to entertainment. The Band was great and performed very very well.

Children's Programs

No kids present

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Nothing out of the usual here except for my room stewart, great service and always frendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Aging ship, but mostly clean in the common areas, except for the pools and surrounding areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was clean and well kept

Ship tip

If you like to stay fit on your vacation this is not the ship for you!

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Nothing special here I have been to Nassau many times. Mostly tourist traps surround the cruise port.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Not as chaotic as embarkation, but the constant reminder to "get of the ship" was annoying. All guests were slated to leave by 9:45, I should not be hustled at 8:30 while I am finishing my breakfast.

We had a fantastic time on the Conquest but that was before Covid. Sorry you didn’t have a good time but with all that’s going on it’s to be expected that everything won’t be normal.
