Review summary

Our recent Carnival Conquest cruise was a big disappointment given our previous sailing experiences. First, the entertainment on the ship has slipped to substandard levels, major productions have been cut to 1/2 hour productions, they incorporated a "Hasbro" night that smacked of nothing but cheap. Despite the large majority of "baby boomers" aboard the ship they moved to a 1980 plus entertainment focus. They experienced technical problems that cut short one production nite. Their food selection at the dining room experience has been downgraded unless you wanted to pay a premium for higher grade items. All in all, I am questioning why we would ever cruise with Carnival again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food selection not as diverse as in past, also, a premium, additional payment for higher quality items, another evident cost cutting move

Onboard Activities

Limited

Entertainment

Significant drop in quality, evidently an area of cost savings for the cruise line

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

The change to a team approach to cabin took away the personal relationship with your "own" cabin steward

Ship tip

I can not recommend Carnival Conquest as a ship to take if you want to enjoy a high level of food and entertainment

We just came off of a Celebrity cruise much happier than we were on Carnival for the reasons you cited. We sailed the Conquest last May and were disappointed with the cut backs. it's worth it to us to pay more to get good food, service and entertainment.

Finished cruise on Glory on Feb 2, agree with dkglover 's post. Time to think of another cruise line- Carnival's cut back on entertainment and food is becoming increasing noticeable.
