Review summary

The Celebration is a great ship with lots to do! We expected it to be busy for spring break. The kids on the ship were for the most part well behaved but you could tell they were getting a little out of control by day 6. We didn’t let that ruin our trip. We always have a great time cruising and always have fun with Carnival.

Embarkation

We had an 11-11:30am check in time. We showed up right at 11am and were on the ship within 10-15 minutes. Probably the smoothest embarkation we have ever had.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We thought the food was great. We only did the MDR on the first night and hit the other restaurants the rest of the week. All of our food came out quick and hot. We had heard that some people were in the dining room for more than 2 hours and getting cold food but that was never our experience. We had Your Time Dining but we ate every night at about 6pm.

Service and Staff

Our room steward Jeffrey was amazing. Greeted us everyday by name and with a cheerful attitude. Exactly what we expect from the crew with Carnival.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a balcony cabin. We chose the location because it was toward the end of the hall near the bridge. I figured that it would prevent kids from running down the hall and it worked. Others on the ship were complaining about the kids running down hallways or knocking on doors and running away but that didn’t happen to us.

Ship tip

If you are traveling during spring break expect a ton of kids and pack a lot of patience.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We took the water taxi to Great Bay Beach. Had a great time. Got a couple chairs on the beach from Lenny. I think the restaurant he worked for was called Eat Something. Great spot on the beach.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We did our own city walking tour using Google maps. Loved walking around the city seeing all of the historic buildings and forts.

Disembarkation

We did the new digital disembarkation and it was easy. Pick a time to disembark on the hub app then wait for the app to notify you that your group is ready to disembark. Super easy and fast.
