Carnival Celebration

7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)

Sail date: May 07, 2023

Ship: Carnival Celebration

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Review summary

I was a little hesitant about the size of the Celebration. I was concerned there might be too many people and it would be crowded. Nothing could be further from the truth. I believe with the elimination of the atrium it gave a lot more useable space and spread the people out more. My wife even commented after we got back no more small ships. Overall, the ship was amazing. The restaurants were top notch. The entertainment was great.

Food and Dining

The food in the main dining room was good as always. We ate from Emeril’s Bistro, Cucina Del Capitano, Bonsai Teppanyaki, and Guy’s Pig & Anchor, and all were excellent.

Entertainment

For the first time, since we started cruising, we attended the stage shows. They were awesome. We will have to check them out when we cruise from here on out.

Ship Quality

We loved the ship layout. With no center atrium taking up so much space the ship never seemed crowded, even though there were over 6 thousand guests on board.

Ship tip

I would always recommend a balcony cabin. Take time and explore the ship. It’s beautiful and well laid out.

We did the Magen’s Bay and Paradise Point Skyride excursion. Magen’s Bay was beautiful. The only problem was that we only got to spend about 2 hours at the beach. The next time we go we will just take a taxi to and from Magen’s Bay. There are tons of taxis waiting to take you back to the port. The Skyride was a great experience. There is also a restaurant at the top as well as some shops.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We did a self guided walking tour of Old San Juan. We really enjoyed it and would love to do it again. There is too much to see in just one trip.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We did the Hands on Chocolate Experience at Chocal. It is a chocolate farm/factory. We were taught about chocolate production from planting of the trees through the entire production process. It was awesome and would totally recommend it.
