Review summary

Each and every cruise is what you make it! Do the activities on board. Go to the shows! Try a food you haven’t had before. We do that and we enjoy ourselves each and every time! We included our 8 year old in more of the activities we thought she’d enjoy and she loved it!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a “breeze”. Of course, we had to sit and wait until we could board but that was understandable. They have photo ops up if you want to get a photo before getting on. We do birth certificates to board and that was no hassle at all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5

Tides Bar

3 out of 5

This is now my 4th cruise and the service here lacked the most. 80% of the time you could not find a server.

Sapphire Dining Room

4 out of 5

I love coming here for dinner because I love the variety of options and almost always something new for me to try that I’ve never had before. The service is great, the food times are a little slower, but that’s because there’s thousands of mouths to feed. They did put on a show for some dinner entertainment!

Plaza Cafe

5 out of 5

Double Mocha Frappe, add espresso. You’re welcome.

Pizzeria

4 out of 5

The pizza, for me, is just a little too greasy and wished it was a cooked just a tad longer. The flavor is great. Just want a little bit more crisp in the middle and not just the crust.

Lido Marketplace

4 out of 5

I was pleasantly surprised with the buffet this go around. Typically the lines are crazy long and this entire trip we never waited to get food for more than 5 minutes. Options are limited. Still nice when you do not want to wait else where!

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

I mean, come on. Of course this gets 5 stars. You can never go wrong with a burger from Guys! Add some veggies and sauce it up and you’re good to go. The fries, still perfectly seasoned!

Blush Dining Room

5 out of 5

Sea day brunch was held in the blush dining room and it never disappoints. We check in before we are actually ready to eat due to wait times and head on up about 5-10 minutes before. The food, delicious! There is something for everyone. :)

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

You can never go wrong with a taco or burrito from here! I had the chicken tacos and added my toppings at the toppings bar. Plenty of hot sauce to choose from if you like to spice it up like me!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We had fun doing the sportssquare and waterworks! I will say the waterworks area is PACKED which is obvious since there are only 2 other small pools.

Winner's Luck Casino

4 out of 5

Although we weren’t extremely lucky, there were still some AMAZING hits while we were present in the casino. Multiple 10,000 dollar hits, a 60,000 dollar hit and lots of others in between. I was sitting by some and they were not betting large bets at all. Service wasn’t too good until Kim came around and he was our guy for the rest of the cruise. He’s number one in there!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The music was always good! Loved that they did show NFL games in different locations of the ship! Comedians are funny!

Ovation Theatre

5 out of 5

Plenty of seating to watch some good comedy shows or the love and marriage show (which is a must in our book)!

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Shoutout to Muis our room steward for doing great in our room and just small little greetings throughout the day! Another shoutout to Kim, he was an over-the-top server in the casino who took amazing care of us! Drinks never were empty!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship design was easy to navigate once you got the hang of it. The buffet area was maintained! Not super dirty or anything! Just once you got above floor 6, it’s like there’s no AC and those floors were just radiating heat. Also towards the last day and a half, I would notice a strong odor in some areas that weren’t very inviting.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Family of 3! This ocean view room, mid, floor one, had a bathroom and a washroom! First time we have had a room like that so was perfect when we were all trying to get ready at once. Size is definitely do-able! Nice little window where you can sit on ledge and look out!

Ship tip

For carnival breeze, and all carnival ships, BRING YOUR OWN STRAWS! I heard so many people YELLING at staff because they didn’t have plastic straws. If you want that, bring it yourself. If you don’t, they have chocolate edible straws for you.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Our excursion was at Dolphinarius and we did the dolphin swim. That included all you can eat and drink while there and also snorkeling & paddle boards. The food and drinks were very very good! The dolphin swim was sooo much fun. Our 8 year olds first time and she absolutely loved it. Photo prices are a bit ridiculous though. One photo with one person in it is 40. I wanted our group photo and it was 120 just for one picture. Shuttle is provided to and from. This is a carnival excursion!

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
It’s a great port because we get to load onto the ship and leave! 😂

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy peasy lemon squeazy! They let you pick an express departure on the hub to get off at the time you want! Made it easy for us so we were able to go grab breakfast before our drive home!
