Review summary

Very good first cruise experience, but if you don't have kids, save yourself the inconvenience and go on an adults only cruise to accommodate the only issues I had with this cruise.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
It was very fun, lots of activities for everyone, good food included, nice shopping opportunities, and many free gifts!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Good food, very clean, not long wait times

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Many options for everyone, maybe a little less activities but more longer, quality activities rather than the quantity of activities because many of them were very simple, some boring, and repetitive.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Many entertainment options for everyone, maybe a little less but more longer, quality performances rather than the quantity of performances because many of them were very simple, some boring, and repetitive.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most employees were very kind and helpful when performing their jobs, but some staff were quite rude when asked for assistance or directions as they seemed impatient or jaded.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
very clean and aesthetically pleasing, but very clean

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
very comfortable, nice size for me my sister and our younger brother, amazing view, and the cleaning services kept the room perfectly clean.

Ship tip

bring walkie talkies if you're not purchasing the wifi package for everyone in your family, and motion sickness medicine

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
Did not enjoy the onboarding process, took very long despite us being hours early, and port employees are impatient and jaded.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Loved the activities we did which was the VIP dolphin swimming and lunch, amazing stores with many freebees, felt safe as long as we stayed with the group and followed instructions. Dolphin photos were extremely expensive and the snorkeling wasn't that great because it was inside of a small tide pool rather than the open ocean. Loved the souvenirs, decent quality and prices.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the activities my family did which included the mayan ruins, the hacienda and cenoté swim, but it took 7 hours and was very tiring. The commute to these destinations was also slightly uncomfortable because the communities in between destinations are not what we are necessarily used to and we are told they are unsafe, but the overall destinations were very unique experiences and mostly worth while.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
very efficient minus the shuttle system after as the wait to get on one was an additional hour and a half after you get off the ship, alternatively you can do the 15 minute walk like we did, but I would't necessarily say that was the better option because it also sucked.
