Review summary

I preferer all inclusive - the CHEER package wasn't work the money. No drinks included on the first day (which was a gimmick to sell drinks and have a big party before sailing out, but since CHEERS wasn't included, add 100.00) and the last day, you off by 8am - so the 6 day/5 night was actually 4 days. That's for 2 guests in one room and it cost me apx. $570.00

You have Texas to thank for the liquor rule. I think 💭 not Texas and New York have that restriction.

You only pay for the days you can use it. That's Texas law not carnival. Texas charges tax on booze bought abroad too. Texas likes their money. I do get my money's worth when I get the package. A couple 17 dollar shots of anejo and you really sock it to em.

We tried the Cheers once but we did not drink even 6 a day so for us it was not worth it.

A 6 day cruise leaving out of galveston for the Cheers package, you pay for 5 days. You get your 5 days.

To clarify, you only paid for 4 days of the Cheers package for this cruise (× 2 people will get you the $570 price tag you mention). Also, the fact that Cheers doesn't work on Day 1 (which, to repeat, you didn't pay for) isn't a "gimmick to sell more drinks", it's a Texas Liquor Control Board requirement that applies to all sailings out of Galveston.

Sorry you did not enjoy.

Uhh...yeah. if you spend $570 for 4 days of Cheers you would have spent $140 more for 5 days to include the first day (which is actually a half day). As it came out, you said you spent an extra $100 to cover the drinks on the first day so that means you actually came out ahead.

We’ll said, DACruiser54! Appreciate your detailed summary. Sorry you find cruising is not for you. But glad you gave it a try.

First day is not a Carnival issue, Texas Alocholic Beverage Commision sets the rules for sailings out of Texas. They also dictate which beverages can be served since the alcohol must be provided by a Texas distributor.
