We had a wonderful time! Despite getting Covid on the last night on the ship. We enjoyed the music, the line dancing, the final entertainment Flick show. It was romantic and everyone on board was so friendly, from the stewards to each person we met. It was wonderful.

Food and Dining

Our waiter had 35 people he had to serve. So we do not blame him, he did his best, and handed us off to another wait staff member for a few of the nights. The food was good and we enjoyed our dining experiences in the main dining room. The “entertainment” left a lot to be desired, but they tried. The buffet food was really good, the cakes ribs etc.
Onboard Activities

The pools were so small and constantly full? This is a very large ship with a lot of people on board and the two main poos were tiny a long with the hot tubs were small and always full. The ropes were fun, the walking deck was great. The water slides were ok. You about blistered our feet getting there, but fun.
Entertainment

The first shows with carnival group were very unimpressive, but the Flick show was outstanding until Cookie had to chime in and tell us about what was happening next and ruined the end of the show. The comedians were good, but it was a family cruise and they struggled doing a family show. Why didn’t they have the comedians in the large theater for 45-hour verses a 30 show in the Limelight bar that was small and non impressive place to perform. We would have appreciated more clean entertainment. But the comedians were great! Just not enough time with them? I really didn’t like the Limelight bar we had to watch them in. It wasn’t very big so there weren’t very many who could enjoy them and it was only 30 min. The violin trio was spectacular!! We LOVE them.
Service and Staff

The waiters were great and worked so hard. Rosanna our cabin cleaner was amazing and we always felt good with her and she did an amazing job for us. Even though the refrigerator didn’t work, she tried to make us happy. Not her fault. Most personal were amazing and very helpful.
Ship Quality

I loved the ship and the layout. We had an awesome balcony room and enjoyed being so close to the Lido, food and activities and music etc. Carnival is definitely a party ship. My only complaint is we all got sick with Covid. It is interesting you make sure everyone is negative before we get on the ship and then when we leave, you are like go be sick on your own time. So I am thinking the cleanliness wasn’t that great on the ship. It mush have been at the buffets or maybe the ice cream that my granddaughter ate regularly along with he rest of us. It is disappointing to have to cancel our trip to NASA because we were so sick with covid. We have spent 2 years covid free and went to have fun with you and got sick. I guess it was what we had to pay for a good time? Hated the gambling and allowing people to smoke on the ship, but that is just us. You tried, but you are way understaffed for the amount of people you had on that ship for that cruise. If you don’t have enough staff DON’T book that many people for the cruise.

We loved the balcony room and will never go back to any other room type. But our refrigerator did not work so all the sodas we carried on board were not chilled. Rosanna kept bringing ice, which was nice, but that made us sad.
Ship tip
It’s a party ship that focuses on drinking and gambling. But all the balcony rooms are wonderful and we had fun and that is what a fun party is all about.
We went and swam with the Dolphins at a resort and it was wonderful. Carnival sponsored it and it was fun. There were a ton of people doing the same thing but we really enjoyed it. Ate and relaxed afterward and made it back to port in air conditioned transports. We had a wonderful guide and it was a very pleasant experience for all of us. Way fun!
We went with the excursion offered from cruises only (this website) and it was horrible. The Dzibilchaltun Ruins- Merida we found out from Iguana tours, after standing for 30 min trying to find them, that those ruins had been closed for over a year and that we were not going there. We chose this sight because it was only 3 1/2 hours long so with grand kids it would be great. They were suppose to be able to swim at the cenotes there at the ruins. NOPE. Nothing advertised happened. We were loaded onto a NON air conditioned bus, with blood stains on the ceiling and water dripping from the ceiling from the non functioning AC. It was miserable. They convinced us that these ruins would be better. We finally got to a bathroom from 9 am in the morning and it was 12:00. The tour guide was awesome and tried his best to help us and give us the best info despite the conditions. Progresso is a very poor port and the experience was very authentic!! We should have NEVER been able to sign up for an excursion that doesn’t even happen. Cruisesonly took our Money and didn’t bother to let us know or take this off the website. Lesson learned. DO NOT GO WITH cruisesonly for your excursions. Go with the cruise line offered excursions. We did both and we will NOT go with cruise line, or any off the ship offers again. It was horrible.
Shuffling us all off at the same time, because everyone was unaware of how to get off the ship was horrible. Not to mention my husband was sick (tested positive with covid later that day) we had to wait for our shuttle in the heat. Lesson learned here also. But we did shuffle off fairly quickly.
