Review summary

First time on Breeze. First time sailing out of Galveston. I’d do it all again in a second

Embarkation

At no fault of the cruise line or port workers - the previous cruise was scheduled to arrive port of Galveston a couple hours late due to weather. I had a 1030 arrival. All that went smooth but we all sat inside terminal for about 2 hours and then rooms ready 2:30 instead of 1:30. Under circumstances, CArnival and port staff handled us well. Bags were at our cabin when we arrived to room.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Yes it’s not as good as years ago and lines to Lido food long but it was Spring Break with 100% occupancy so it’s to be expected. If you can’t find plenty to eat that you like SOMEWHERE to eat on this ship, there is something wrong. 🙏🏼

Onboard Activities

I did Bingo, hoola hoop contest. Other than that I just relaxed and took in Ocean Plaza entertainment. Cruise Director Cookie is hands down the BEST CD Carnival has. He can make anything fun - even when it rains!

Entertainment

Cookie the CD and his sis Koko — amazing!! I didn’t do any of the shows.

Children's Programs

Carnival try’s but my 11 yr old went first and 2nd day, made a few friends and then the group didn’t go back much. It was too crowded she said and too “young “. That age 9-11 can be difficult to find something that all like. Such a disparity with 11 yr old with their maturity level. Mine is on the “older” side with both physical looks and mental. Carnival should rethink how the groups are divided or allow for more flexibility with those at the upper age limit in each group — letting a parent or guardian choose to put their child in the older group - or even possibly in a younger group if that’s the reverse case.

Cabin / Stateroom

Awesome room. First time on Lido and now It’s a fave location for us. If you are on Lido most of cruise, this is a must if you can get it! Our steward was very very busy - we only saw him 3-4x but always took care of us. Many of the staff had debarked early since ship was going directly to dry dock after our cruise. So staff remaining had to pick up the slack.

Ship tip

It’s a nice ship - just the right size and easy to maneuver your eat around.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Easy port for embarkation and debarkation. I like Murdochs to do last minute shopping. Was too cold and windy to do much.

Cozumel, Mexico

It rained a lot first few days but we went to Mr Sanchos. Despite the awful weather, the staff worked hard. Great food! Water clean from what I could tell. Taxi to/from $17 each way. I felt safe always

Disembarkation

My B & B picked my granddaughter up curbside after a super EASY disembark. They started earlier than usual (6:30 am!!) which was unexpected or communicated the night before since they had to leave super fast for dry dock transatlantic crossing. That was only part that I didn’t like.
