Review summary

We really enjoyed the cruise as a whole and have gotten another one scheduled on the same ship, with different itinerary but about the same time of year. I would recommend Carnival to someone who wants a nice vacation that is affordable

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Went fast, was on ship less than one hour from arrival time appointment

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room,(Blush) was very nice, we were seated by a window on upper deck. Although you couldn't see far, it was still nice. during sea day the were not seating people on the upper deck, only for dinner. The service was outstanding, with Mike,Windu and Riga we never had to ask for anything, they are a good team, as all food was served hot and well prepared, and all glasses kept full. The Steak house was very good also, and had tasty items on the menu. You don't want to miss Guy's burger shack and Pig and Anchor bar-b-que. The Italian is available for lunch free of charge, but has a charge for dinner.I did not have any bad experience with and food place on the ship,Its all good, as I am six pounds heavier.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Can't say on the activities, as we did not get involved with them. The ones we were interested in were either too late or just too busy, Huge crowds waiting outside of several events blocking elevator access, and most not wearing a mask, even in an elevator, so we just enjoyed our aft cabin large balcony.

Entertainment

thinbgs were too late or too crowded with people not wearing a mask in a large group. We just didn't feel the risk to our health was worth it.

Children's Programs

No children, and grandchild stayed home.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The room Steward, Putu did a extremely good job, especially in the bathroom, and he would get anything we asked for. He was not the typical housekeeper as in hotels, lhe would go above and beyond with extra favors and if we asked for something that room stewards normally don't do he got it done. He could have said call this or that, but he took care of it himself. We had a mixup on the billo and went to Guest services and they fixed it, no questions.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
For the size of the ship, I was pretty impressed with how they kept it overall, but many times I noticed that hot tubs were out of service during, and it seems that that could be done at night so it can be used during the day. As for the layout, they have a map at every elevator showing where you are, so it not real easy to get lost, but If you wa nt to do something in the theater you would have to go to the front and then to the back if you wanted the piano bar or comedy club, and it is a long walk, but there is a lot to see between the two.Th areas that we were in were cleaned or being cleaned as needed. I can't soy too much about the layout because I haven't been on that many ships, but maybe it was designed to help us burn off calories from the good food.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cleanliness was very good, the bed was comfortable, especially the bedding and pillows, the arrangement is ok for two people, but I am not sure about 2 or 4 in that area. It was very comfortable for the size

Ship tip

If your cabin is at the back or front, walk to the midship elevators on your deck, if you destination is close to midships as the decks 3, 4, and 5 are usually busy, depending on the time. If you don't have a balcony cabin, the are several (secret decks) close to or at the front of the ship, like deck 9 if you go up the forward elevator to 9, and salk around at the front there is a door to a deck that is very quiet, just above the bridge

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Nice visit, bought a few things and enjoyed some food and not too far from the ship.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

3 out of 5
Its outstanding if you need some liquor, the prices are much cheaper than the same product on the boat, Just take a picture of it and show it to the clerk and he will sell it to you at that price, just make sure of all the detail, number of oz. etc. I look in the store on the boat before I get to Progreso and then I can check and make sure its the same. We did not do and excursion, it is too far to the town, and I just didn't want to go that far. The places we went were just off the boat.

Disembarkation

Went got my liquor and luggage tags, and went to the theater and sat for about a half an hour and the came and said we could go. so it went very good, had to stop to pay the tax on the liquor, otherwise it was speedy getting off the boat. pay
